Bonne Nuit

My secret weapon for a goodnight’s sleep is an eye mask.  I’ve been using an eye mask for about 2 years now and can’t begin to tell you how much of a difference it has made.  I sleep so much more deeply than before and wake up feeling refreshed and well rested.  A few months ago, a girlfriend who works in the beauty industry sent me this iluminage Skin Rejuvenating Eye Mask to try and I’ve been using it ever since.  I love how much thicker it is than my old eye mask.  It’s made of an incredibly satiny soft fabric that’s infused with copper.  The copper technology is proven to reduce fine lines and rejuvenate your skin while you sleep – in just four weeks.  Talk about a win-win!  Cozy bedding is my other secret weapon to a goodnight’s sleep and this classic black and white sheet set with this down comforter is a dreamy combo.  My throw pillows are Missoni and my headboard is Restoration Hardware (although I am loving this one from One Kings Lane!)

Spring Beauty Refresh
Every season I love to add new beauty products to my routine – whether it be a new eyeshadow palette, lipgloss, or blush – it’s just nice to mix things up.  With spring right around the corner (can’t believe it’s less than one month away!) I wanted to create a fresh, feminine, daytime look.  For my lips, I used Tarteist’s Lip Crayon to line them (this gives them a fuller look), and then added a layer of Tarteist’s ultra matte finish Lip Paint. For my brows, I used Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade which is one of my absolute beauty must haves.  Gotta love a bold brow!  I love how easy the pomade is to apply and that it doesn’t smudge.  For my eyes, I used Ulta Beauty’s Gel Eye Liner Pencil which glides on seamlessly and comes in 24 other shades, and Urban Decay’s Naked Smoky Palette.  I combined 3 colors from the palette to create a daytime smoky eye – Combust, Whiskey, and Slanted.  The key to making it look natural is really blending each shadow into your crease which can easily be down with the brushes that come with the palette.  To complete my spring makeup look I used Revlon’s Highlighting Palette which gave me a sun kissed glow and added just the right amount of shimmer to my cheekbones.  See more pictures on Byrdie.com and shop all of the products I used below!

Fashion Week Beauty
Meatpacking District, NYC

Fashion Week has officially begun!  I’m excited to be partnering with Elizabeth Arden and giving you a little peek into my beauty routine.  I like to keep my beauty routine low maintenance and easy during Fashion Week since I’m always running out the door/pressed for time.  I try to focus on my skin (I mentioned my skin routine in Wednesday’s post) and my eyes (long lashes are a must!)  I’ve tried my fair share of drugstore and luxury mascaras over the years – and after trying Elizabeth Arden’s new Grand Entrance Mascara I’m officially hooked!  I loved that I was able to achieve long, thick lashes after only 2 coats and that it didn’t smudge or flake throughout the day.  The unique push up tip not only created volume, but lifted and curled my lashes.  Elizabeth Arden is running a month long sweepstakes with the chance to win $250 to shop their site.  To enter, simply upload a photo of yourself on Instagram making an “unforgettable entrance” with #GrandEntranceSweeps.  The picture could be you heading to date night, a fun cocktail party or an event…get creative!

Holiday Beauty

I always like to step up my beauty routine a bit more around the holidays.  I’ll add a little brightening powder under my eyes to really make them pop – or I’ll dab extra tinted moisturizer on my cheekbones to give me a gorgeous glow.  Laura Mercier’s Secret Brightening Powder is an absolute must have for setting under-eye concealer.  To apply it – simply dab this brush in the powder and lightly dust it over your under-eye concealer.  If I’m going to a fancier cocktail party or event I’ll use Laura Mercier’s new Velour Lovers Lip Colour in Infatuation and top it off with a swipe of my favorite Lip Glace in Bare Baby.  I finally figured out how to use setting powder which has been a game changer!  I tend to get shiny in between my brows so I’ve been looking for something to get rid of the shine and give me an overall smooth finish.  Laura Mercier’s Translucent Loose Setting Powder is an oil free French cashmere powder which absorbs excess oil and sets your makeups for the entire day.  If you’re running from work to an event and don’t have time to redo your makeup it’s a lifesaver.  The best way to apply it is to use the Velour Puff and dab it into the powder, tap off the excess powder on your hand, and then gently press the puff onto your skin using a rolling motion (I start with my T-zone, then do my cheekbones and under-eye area.)  Shop all of the products I used below!

Travel Beauty Must Haves

With the holidays quickly approaching and everyone traveling I figured it was the perfect time to share my travel beauty must haves.  It’s no secret that I love to travel, but it certainly takes a toll on my body.  I swell so easily and my skin gets insanely dry after a long flight.  I swear by Nuvess Deep Hydrating and Brightening face masks and put one on immediately after checking into my hotel or getting home.  Within 20 minutes of using the mask my skin is completely revitalized and I’m left with the prettiest glow (thanks to the Vitamin C!)  If you’re heading straight off the plane to an event and pinched for time, their Anytime Serum Roller is a godsend.  Pop it in your purse, quickly roll it under your eyes and you’re good to go.  Shop more of my travel beauty must haves below (like this yummy smelling room scent, this travel size texturizing hair spray and this subtle pink gloss.)
