I’m so excited to share pictures of my old West Village, NYC apartment with you! I lived in this charming 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom, 650 sq. ft apartment for 3 years. The second bedroom became a very special closet/office space which you may remember from this post here. My apartment was located on the most incredible street in a brick building that was built in the 1920s. The fire escape overlooked townhouses that reminded me of St. Germain in Paris. In the spring, beautiful white blossoms would bloom right outside my steps and everyone was always out and about with their dogs grabbing coffee. I made a cute dining nook which was located near the entry, and got creative with Ikea shelves, rolling racks, and under the bed storage. When it came to decor, I embraced the neighborhood charm and history of the West Village and outfitted the space with classic, cozy, sophisticated pieces. I used a ton of neutrals to make the space feel bigger than it was, and drew inspiration from my travels. The picture above my bar cart is a framed Hermes scarf that I picked up in Florence, the entry rug is from a Bazaar in Turkey, and the bone inlay dresser has a Moorish-inspired, bohemian flare. The entry mirror is Moroccan inspired and all of the artwork has some sort of meaning or significance to me. I ordered most of my pieces online (One Kings Lane, Restoration Hardware, Wisteria and Williams Sonoma), and then picked up other items at antique and specialty shops during my travels. It took me 3 years (until I moved out!) to fully decorate the place. It happened slowly, but surely. After year 2, I got “stuck” and couldn’t figure out what was missing in my apartment or what it needed to really feel 100% complete. I reached out to Becca Interiors after finding her on Instagram and she helped me add the finishing touches and swap out a few things (like my coffee table, bathroom light + wallpaper, artwork and bedroom paint.) Stay tuned for Pt. 2 and be sure to check out other photos of my apartment on MyDomaine, Domino and The Every Girl (next week!)

I really love this apartment. The inside structure and decor remind me of Parisian Apartments, however, the outside view and architecture is definitely a New York apartment. :) Did you move out already?
