Wedding season is in full swing and I’ve got 6 weddings to attend between now and January 2018! I just got back from a beautiful backyard wedding in North Carolina and wore this flirty blue dress. It was absolutely perfect – I didn’t feel over or underdressed – and was able to dance the night away! I also wore it in NYC with a leather jacket for a business meeting uptown. The meeting took place at the stunning Majorelle restaurant tucked inside one of the chicest hotels on the Upper East Side; The Lowell. I’m a downtown girl all the way, but this dreamy restaurant and bar are 100% worth going uptown for. If you live in the city or are visiting and want a sophisticated night out – head there – you will not be disappointed! Now back to wedding attire…one of the most frequently asked questions I receive on the blog is; What should I wear to a wedding? There are several factors that you want to take into account when dress shopping – season, formality, and location. In general though, I like to keep a sophisticated long black dress hanging in the back of my closet for a black tie wedding, a dramatic red dress for a formal destination wedding, a colorful printed dress for a semi-formal wedding, and a navy dress for all of the above. Navy is a beautiful color on everyone and so classic – you literally cannot go wrong with it. Pair your ensemble with turquoise earrings in the summer or gold earrings in the fall/winter and you can instantly change the whole look/vibe of the dress. This one from Alice + Olivia years ago has served me well. Shop more of my wedding attire recommendations below!

Gorgeous as usual Kat. I have to know… What is your secret to undergarments for these off shoulder dresses? You always have the most subtle, classy cleavages going on, but looks like you’re not wearing a bra! Please share. Thank you!
Hi! LOL well gee thanks ;))) I swear by these adhesive bra cups! http://bit.ly/2rhrmUI And these nipple covers for super low cut pieces!!! http://bit.ly/2rhgNkp

Beautiful for weddings, but even better for vacations! :)
Love this cut on you! I also like the idea of making it a little edgier with a leather jacket and ankle boots.
