Home Office Inspo

Since so many of us are now working from home, I wanted to give you a little inspo on how to make your office feel both functional and cozy. These photos are from all of my home offices over the years! Which one is your favorite? :) Home Office Inspo Desks I’ve had this CB2 lucite desk for 4+ years. It’s such a great piece, and I would highly recommend it to anyone. It also comes in a smaller version which I’ve used as a bar cart, console, and most recently vanity, but it would be great as a desk in a smaller space. It does scratch easily, but honestly, I don’t mind the scratches. The best thing to do to protect it from scratches, would be to put a little mat or rubber padding underneath your computer if you’re really worried about it. Other than that, I LOVE how much light it brings into a room. It’s not clunky, and it really allows for other decorative pieces in the room to shine. I also owned this white Bungalow 5 desk (pricey, but sooooo beautiful) and currently have my eye on this black desk for something different. Desk Chairs I hate the look of a conventional “office” rolling chair. Although it’s comfortable it totally ruins the vibe!!! My office chairs have all been upholstered and comfortable, but also visually appealing. My large white upholstered chair is from Ballard Designs, my beige chair was from Restoration Hardware, and my white bamboo chair was from Bungalow 5. Rugs A rug instantly warms up a space. You can never go wrong with a natural jute rug – this one is my favorite. You can layer a cool zebra rug over it, or even a shearling rug. A 100% real sheepskin rug under my desk is a MUST for me now because it actually activates your blood circulation! It’s so cozy and keeps my feet warm the entire time I’m working. Other rugs I love are vintage Turkish ones from Etsy. Storage With the lucite desk, obviously there aren’t any drawers! I’ve gotten creative with storage over the years, and kept old designer shoe boxes for papers and trinkets. I also like to utilize simple Ikea Billy bookcases (they have a model that comes with doors too, which is great!) For thicker paperwork, I use dresser drawers, or store things outside of my office if they’re not being used 24/7. Accessories I like to keep the accessories on my desk to a bare minimum now. I’ve really edited and paired down over the years and find that I work best with way less clutter and stuff around me. You can’t go wrong with this lucite tray for loose papers. I also love all of Aerin’s trays – talk about a perfect Christmas or birthday gift for someone! This one is my FAVE! In terms of planners, I now keep everything digital. I do like to write out to-do notes though, and regularly order notepads and stationary from this cute Etsy shop. A few fashion coffee table books are always fun to have out, and of course a pretty vase for flowers. I linked several other desks, chairs, and accessories below!

Lightweight Fall Jackets

The air is getting crisp and cool here in Connecticut so I’ve been slowly swapping out my summer wardrobe for my fall one. I’m pulling out all of my lightweight coats, trenches, leather jackets, blazers and bomber jackets to layer over dresses and tops. Fall is definitely one of my favorite seasons to dress for! I wanted to share the lightweight fall jackets I’ve worn over the years, as well as a few new ones I have my eye on. Lightweight Fall JacketsTrench CoatsWhen it comes to lightweight jackets in the fall, the first kind that comes to mind is a trench coat. I’ve had the classic Burberry Kensington trench for years. While I do love it, it’s extremely pricey and stiff which has made me wear it less and less over the years. I’ve been reaching for this draped Theory trench season after season, and can’t recommend it enough. FYI it runs big, so size down. It’s available in tan, black and cream. This is an almost identical option with more sizes in stock! A few other draped trenches I’m coveting are this olive green one, this white one and this chic black one. !function(d,s,id){ var e, p = /^http:/.test(d.location) ? 'http' : 'https'; if(!d.getElementById(id)) { e = d.createElement(s); e.id = id; e.src = p + '://widgets.rewardstyle.com/js/shopthepost.js'; d.body.appendChild(e); } if(typeof window.__stp === 'object') if(d.readyState === 'complete') { window.__stp.init(); } }(document, 'script', 'shopthepost-script'); BlazersYou know I love a good blazer. I recently started investing in Veronica Beard blazers and all I can say is WOW. Probably my favorite blazer brand ever. The quality is excellent, the material is beautiful and you can tell they take a lot of time when it comes to creating the silhouette. Two other brands I love for quality blazers are L’Agence and ALC. In terms of affordable, more casual blazers – you can’t go wrong with Mango or Topshop. !function(d,s,id){ var e, p = /^http:/.test(d.location) ? 'http' : 'https'; if(!d.getElementById(id)) { e = d.createElement(s); e.id = id; e.src = p + '://widgets.rewardstyle.com/js/shopthepost.js'; d.body.appendChild(e); } if(typeof window.__stp === 'object') if(d.readyState === 'complete') { window.__stp.init(); } }(document, 'script', 'shopthepost-script'); Bomber/Military JacketsThis Banana Republic green jacket from last year is my most worn lightweight jacket. It’s soooooo cute on. I wear it with jeans, a bodysuit and sneakers or booties throughout the year. Banana no longer makes it, but I found this one which is similar and looks really cozy. Other casual green jackets I love; this one, this one, this one and this one. !function(d,s,id){ var e, p = /^http:/.test(d.location) ? 'http' : 'https'; if(!d.getElementById(id)) { e = d.createElement(s); e.id = id; e.src = p + '://widgets.rewardstyle.com/js/shopthepost.js'; d.body.appendChild(e); } if(typeof window.__stp === 'object') if(d.readyState === 'complete') { window.__stp.init(); } }(document, 'script', 'shopthepost-script'); Leather JacketsMy most worn leather jacket is 6 years old from Banana Republic. They make a similar version which is still available here. I also really love this leather jacket which looks closer to the one I have. This is a great option for under $100 which I’ve seen in stores. If you’re willing to splurge, Iro makes the softest, most buttery leather jackets. I love it in this mustard color. !function(d,s,id){ var e, p = /^http:/.test(d.location) ? 'http' : 'https'; if(!d.getElementById(id)) { e = d.createElement(s); e.id = id; e.src = p + '://widgets.rewardstyle.com/js/shopthepost.js'; d.body.appendChild(e); } if(typeof window.__stp === 'object') if(d.readyState === 'complete') { window.__stp.init(); } }(document, 'script', 'shopthepost-script'); Lightweight CoatsThe best lightweight coats tends to sell out fast, so I’m sharing a few that I’ve seen fully stocked here… You can never go wrong with a Theory coat. They last for years and look so amazing on. Keep in mind that you’ll need to size down for all of their coats though. This rich camel cashmere coat is going to go FAST, I just ordered mine! I always get so many compliments on this Mackage coat – it runs big as well. I haven’t tried this camel coat on, but love the look. Same goes for this camel one, and this camel one! !function(d,s,id){ var e, p = /^http:/.test(d.location) ? 'http' : 'https'; if(!d.getElementById(id)) { e = d.createElement(s); e.id = id; e.src = p + '://widgets.rewardstyle.com/js/shopthepost.js'; d.body.appendChild(e); } if(typeof window.__stp === 'object') if(d.readyState === 'complete') { window.__stp.init(); } }(document, 'script', 'shopthepost-script'); Casual JacketsLast, but not least, some cute + casual jackets for running around town or throwing on for any occasion… In terms of fleece zip ups, how cute is this one? And this one is under $15. OBSESSED with this leather + cream sherpa jacket. This Isabel Marant printed sweater is really fun. !function(d,s,id){ var e, p = /^http:/.test(d.location) ? 'http' : 'https'; if(!d.getElementById(id)) { e = d.createElement(s); e.id = id; e.src = p + '://widgets.rewardstyle.com/js/shopthepost.js'; d.body.appendChild(e); } if(typeof window.__stp === 'object') if(d.readyState === 'complete') { window.__stp.init(); } }(document, 'script', 'shopthepost-script'); Shop more of my favorite lightweight jackets for fall below!

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

By now you’ve probably seen and heard about the Nordstrom Anniversary sale 2020! I always love shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary sale because it’s full of classic, affordable pieces you can wear throughout the year. I rounded up my absolute top favorites below so it’s easy for you to shop the sale right from home! Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2020 Picks I was honestly REALLY impressed with what was included in the sale this year. There are some SCREAMING deals, and a few things I couldn’t resist snapping up. Things always sell out really fast, so if you like something grab it quick! Boots My most worn pair of booties last year was a pair of white block heel booties. They literally go with everything and surprisingly stayed clean throughout rain, snow, and sleet. There are 3 pairs of white booties included in the sale that I am LOVING. These ones, these ones and these ones are all under $160. If you’re looking for a tan bootie, you can’t go wrong with these gorgeous faux croc ones. If you still don’t own a pair of Stuart Weitzman over the knee black boots, it’s worth investing in these. I’ve had them for 7+ years and am still just as obsessed. And if you need rain boots, these Hunter ones are great! Sweaters and Coats How dreamy is this cashmere camel sweater?! It would look amazing with white, black or blue jeans this fall. This is such a classic v-neck sweater and under $50. I am swooning over this cozy fleece jacket, also love the quarter zip version. This is a great zip up for running errands. If you’re looking for a cream teddy coat, this one looks really cute. Jeans and Skirts I’ve been a fan of PAIGE denim for years, and these light blue wash distressed ones are the perfect year round jean. I have a light pink and olive green silky midi skirt that I wear a TON and always get asked about. This pink one and this green one are almost identical if you’ve been wanting them! Other Items I’m Loving This paisley dress (reminds me of a Zimmermann dress!), these Quay cat eye sunglasses, these Hanky Panky thongs, this cozy robe, and this Rails white button down (I own in 3 colors) are all such great finds. Happy shopping!!!

Floral Dresses For Spring

I mentioned on my IG stories the other day that I was feeling tired of wearing sweatpants 24/7. So many of you said you could relate, and a TON of you DM’ed me to share that you’ve actually noticed a HUGE change in your mood since you started putting real clothes on in the morning. This really inspired me, and I’m feeling motivated to put actual clothes on this week. It’s Wednesday and I still haven’t TBH, but I’m mentally prepping myself to put the sweatpants awayyyyyy for the rest of the week! Floral Dresses For SpringFor walks on warm days, or even just to head up to our rooftop, I’m going to throw on a cute floral sundress like this one. It’s from Reformation; a sustainable clothing company that I’ve been a huge fan of for years. They’ve recently partnered with the city of LA to create masks for frontline workers (so amazing right?!) and are currently offering 30% off sitewide! Their dresses are great quality, and super flattering. I have my eye on this one, this one and this one. For sizing reference, I typically size up since their waist/rib cage area tends to run pretty narrow! Nordstrom just marked down a ton of spring dresses and I’m really loving this one, this one and this one. A new-to-me online store; Verishop, has some amazing dresses (and brands in general) – and I am coveting this one in particular. If you’re looking to spend under $40 on a dress – I just wore this cute floral dress here, and it comes in several colors/patterns. I also love this light blue floral print number.
