Best of Beauty: May

It’s already the end of June and I realized I haven’t done a Best of Beauty for May roundup. Better late than never right?! I’ve been testing quite a few new products, and using some old favorites on repeat lately, so I wanted to share everything I’m loving. Goop Face Oil I’ve raved about this face oil before and have been using it a lot more now that I have a Gua Sha tool. I dab a few drops on each cheek and run the tool along it to help with jaw tension and puffiness. I love the texture and smell, plus it’s super nourishing. Gua Sha This is such a great tool for sculpting your face and de-puffing. It’s so easy to use – just run it along your jawline with face oil. I use it about 3-4 times a week. Skin Medica Eye Cream I’ve tested hundreds of eye creams and found about 5 that I actually like. This is one of them. The consistency is really nice (not too thin, not too thick) and it absorbs really fast. It brightens the skin under your eyes and really hydrates the fine lines. Honest Beauty Mascara I’ve been wanting to find a clean mascara for years and am beyond impressed with this one. At first I was annoyed that you have to use the primer before applying it, but it takes 2 seconds and really does add length to your lashes. This is pretty much the only mascara I use now. Iluminage Eye Mask If you’re looking for an eye mask, look no further. I’ve used this one for years and it’s so comfortable. It’s wider than most masks and also adjustable. Supergoop Glowscreen I LOVE this sunscreen. It’s super light, sheer, and has just the right amount of highlight/tinted moisturizer/SPF coverage. I wear this everyday now. Foot Spa Bath Thomas’ mom bought us this spa pedicure foot bath a few weeks ago and we’ve been using it a ton. Since I haven’t been able to get a pedicure in months, this really does the trick. So relaxing. Lancome Juicy Tube Remember Lancome juicy tubes?! I used to buy these religiously in high school! They just came back so I ordered a few….and I just LOVE the way they look on. They give your lips a super high shine and smell amazing.

Gifts I'm Giving This Year

Each year I do a very concise number of gift guides. I personally don’t think it makes sense to do a zillion gift guides – that’s just overwhelming! I wanted to share the gifts I’m actually giving my loved ones this year which will hopefully make your shopping experience a whole lot easier! (And let’s hope they aren’t reading this post haha…) Gifts For Him For Thomas – I’m getting him an Away suitcase because he travels a TON for work and keeps commenting how much he loves my Away bag whenever we take trips. It’s funny I have several roller suitcases that are WAY more expensive than my Away bag, yet 99.9% of the time I reach for my Away bag. I’m also getting him a beautiful card case (linked several others below – really loving this one) because he prefers a thinner style wallet versus a traditional size one and his current one is falling a part! And lastly – this beautiful water resistant jacket from Banana Republic. For my dad – I’m getting him this fun record player and records because he just moved into a new home and loves classic music. I’m also getting him a round of golf at The Phoenician – an amazing course in our hometown in Arizona, and this quilted jacket for chillier evenings. Gifts For Her For my sister – She always takes my skincare products when she comes over, so I’m getting her this Tata Harper skincare essentials kit with some of my favorite products from the line that I know she will love! I’m also getting her a Le Creuset pot because she loves to cook for her new husband! For my mom – My mom is super sentimental and loves photos of us all over her house. I’m going to get her beautiful Ralph Lauren silver frames (also love these) with some of my favorite pictures. I’m also getting her these cashmere lined leather gloves and a Delta flight gift certificate so she can visit her best friend in London! Gifts For The Dog Lover For Charlie – He needs a warm sweater for the winter – and I’m eyeing this cashmere cable knit sweater and this cute little monogram one for him!!! I love this plaid dog bed, and I will of course be spoiling him with some of his favorite treats! Splurgeworthy Gifts For Her For myself – These are things I want, but haven’t gotten around to buying so they’re on my mental wishlist. I’d love to try the Augustinus Bader Rich Cream. I tried the regular cream from the line a few months ago and to be honest, I wasn’t impressed with it. BUT everyone says I should have gotten the RICH cream because it’s wayyyy better – so I’d love to see what the hype is all about! I’m dying to try SKIMS shapewear by Kim Kardashian. I’m a sucker for simple, neutral underwear – and I feel like her core control thongs would be amazing for tight dresses!!! I need a new Iluminage silk eye mask – and this set sounds heavenly. I’ve been using this eye mask for years and mine is on it’s last leg! This pillow case + eye mask set is also really beautiful and comes in pink or black. And in terms of splurge worthy items… I would love this vintage Hermes Kelly black bag, or this croc one, this silver Fleur du Mal kimono and matching slip dress, and this Nordstrom Made cashmere sweater. Wellness Beauty Products

I’ve been incorporating more and more all natural, organic beauty products into my routine and wanted to share a few of my favorites with you! I keep coming back to this facial oil by Indie Lee.  It’s only $32 – a fraction of the price of other facial oils – and keeps my skin feeling so hydrated.  Use it in the morning or at night – and even add it to your foundation for a boosting effect. This coconut body polish from Herbivore is a treat to use weekly in the shower.  I rub it in circular motions all over – and particularly around my butt/thigh area which needs more attention!  It wakes up my skin and leaves it feeling uber soft! I did a blog post with iluminage years ago – and still use their silk eye mask to this day.  It’s often sold out on Nordstrom because it’s so effective and well made.  I notice a huge difference when I forget to pack it on trips! You are what you eat – which is why I incorporate collagen powder into my smoothies everyday.  Vital Proteins just came out with this collagen creamer which adds the yummiest flavor to smoothies and baked goods! I haven’t been as good about dry brushing as normal lately and I definitely notice my digestion and circulation are a bit off so I’ll be dry brushing when I return home for sure! Call me crazy for purchasing an almost $100 glass water bottle filled with pink crystals – but I love it and it looks pretty on my desk/wherever I bring it and helps me drink more water since I always have it with me! I have heard such good things about The Beauty Chef products and just bought her cookbook!  I’m looking forward to trying out her wellness products – particularly her inner glow beauty powder and collagen! I’ve heard that most leading makeup brand setting powders are extremely carcinogenic so I’ve been searching for a better option for a while now.  This one from Jane Iredale has great reviews so I am going to test it out and report back! This conditioner smells HEAVENLY – I wish it were a perfume.  The girl who created it lives in Venice and is just the sweetest.  The conditioner and sea spray are my favorite products from her line. I’ve been hearing a ton of buzz around the line RMS Beauty – and judging from the reviews – it seems like I need this lip + cheek duo! What are some of your favorite wellness beauty products?  Do tell! Shop Organic Beauty Products:

Bonne Nuit

My secret weapon for a goodnight’s sleep is an eye mask.  I’ve been using an eye mask for about 2 years now and can’t begin to tell you how much of a difference it has made.  I sleep so much more deeply than before and wake up feeling refreshed and well rested.  A few months ago, a girlfriend who works in the beauty industry sent me this iluminage Skin Rejuvenating Eye Mask to try and I’ve been using it ever since.  I love how much thicker it is than my old eye mask.  It’s made of an incredibly satiny soft fabric that’s infused with copper.  The copper technology is proven to reduce fine lines and rejuvenate your skin while you sleep – in just four weeks.  Talk about a win-win!  Cozy bedding is my other secret weapon to a goodnight’s sleep and this classic black and white sheet set with this down comforter is a dreamy combo.  My throw pillows are Missoni and my headboard is Restoration Hardware (although I am loving this one from One Kings Lane!)
