Happy Friday! If you’ve been wondering where to take your next spring/summer getaway – book a ticket to San Miguel de Allende. You will not regret it. I wasn’t familiar with the city at all until this trip with The New York Times, and I am so grateful to have been introduced to this special place. If I had to compare it to a city or town that I’ve been to – I would say it feels like the town of St. Barths or St. Tropez. With a relaxed village vibe, unique markets and luxe hotels this is a great place for any traveler – of any age. The hotel we stayed at was called Hotel Matilda which was gorgeous and super modern. We dined at the dreamy Rosewood hotel which has a wrap around terrace overlooking the entire city. My favorite spot was Doce 18 Concept House (you may remember me freaking out about it on instastory!) It’s a stunning space that has a hotel, shops, restaurants, boutiques, and a florist all under one roof. I literally want my entire house to look like the rooms there. After we had lunch at Doce 18 we wandered to the local market a few blocks away which had vendors offering all sorts of authentic things; hand painted pottery, beaded jewelry, fresh cacti, corn on the cob, fruit, flowers, pewter dishes, and embroidered textiles. I loved picking out two embroidered pieces that I’m going to have framed for my new home. Speaking of home – a few of you have been messaging me about the white trays that I put my perfume on – FYI you can get them here. Have a great weekend!
Thanks for the suggestion Kat. My sister and I want to plan a sister’s trip in Mexico but we couldn’t decided where and San Miguel del Allende sounds like just what we are looking for! Never heard of it but based on your photos, it looks amazing!
