Early Spring Beauty Must Haves

Palm Springs, CA

I spent the other week in Palm Springs for an annual girls spa getaway and wanted to share all of the beauty items I packed!  I only brought my tried-and-true spring beauty essentials since the week was all about detoxing/cleansing and I didn’t need a ton of makeup for our low key activities.  I shared some of the fun things we did during our trip in my How To Create A Healthy Girls Spa Getaway post from over the summer.  Having a relaxing/healthy week away with some of your best girlfriends is such a nice way to reset and recharge!   See below for my current beauty faves (PS nothing in this post is sponsored – these are all just products I love and have used for years ;))

Toiletry bags from Cuyana, Madeline Weinrib, and St. Frank

I always get so many questions about my cosmetic cases!  They’re all from different brands, but blend together quite nicely right?!  The Cuyana one makes a great birthday or bridesmaid gift because it can be monogrammed, and comes in several different sizes and colors.

Dermagolica exfoliator

I’ve been using this exfoliator for 6 years now.  A friend introduced it to me in NYC, and I fell in love immediately.  It’s super gentle and I use it in the shower about 4 times/week.  It’s often sold out – but I found it here!

Indie Lee face oil

Everyone and their mother seems to be talking about/using face oils!  I only recently added one to my routine because my skin had been insanely dry and I felt like I needed an extra boost of something.  Well, let me tell you, it’s a game changer.  This one is extremely affordable as far as quality face oils go (its $32) and has amazing reviews and results.

Sisley face mask

I’m a huge fan of all Sisley products.  They’re on the pricier side, but you definitely get what you pay for.  This mask is the BOMB DOT COM.  I use it 3 times/week in the bathtub.

Silk eye mask

I sleep so much deeper when I wear an eye mask.  It’s crucial to block out light from windows, the TV, our phones, an alarm clock, etc. and this eye mask does the job – plus it helps prevent wrinkles!

La Mer eye cream

I’ve tried several different eye creams over the years, and I keep coming back to this one.  It just works.  It feels really good/has a great consistency and I genuinely believe it’s worth the money.

Archipelago oat lotion

I got this lotion in a gift bag and was hesitant to try it because I don’t typically love super scented/perfumey/fancy body lotions.  I tend to stick to my basic coconut lotion from Whole Foods!  I’m really glad I did tried this one because it’s legit the silkiest, smoothest, most luxurious moisturizing body lotion I’ve ever used.  I’m addicted and no other body lotion compares.  I also couldn’t resist buying it in this coconut scent!

Sisley cleanser

I was recently informed that makeup wipes don’t actually take off all of the dirt/makeup on your face.  I guess I’ve been living under a rock LOL.  I wasn’t being good about cleansing my skin at night/regularly so after learning this I decided to step up my game and invested in this milky Sisley cleanser.  It’s so light and gentle and literally makes my skin glow.  My friend Grace loves using it too and she always has the best beauty recommendations!

Diptyque perfume

I stopped wearing deodorant a few months ago (I know EEK right?!) but I had heard so many bad things about the aluminum in most deodorants and then I couldn’t find an all natural deodorant that worked for me so, I just stopped putting any on!  It took about a week for my body to get used to it and then much to my surprise, I didn’t really sweat that much and/or feel like I needed it.  If I’m doing an intense workout class and worried – I will spray the deodorant they have in the bathroom on, but generally I just forgo it.
Hopefully no one notices!  Anyways, this Diptyque perfume is my absolute hands down favorite and my signature everyday scent so I like to take it everywhere I go and just spritz a bit when I feel like it :)

Giorgio Armani foundation

No matter what, I always dab a bit of this under my eyes or all over my face to even out my skin tone.  It’s an award winning foundation for a reason and has a cult following.  I wear shade 6.5!

Charlotte Tilbury highlighter

I raved about this highlighter in my Fall Beauty Must Haves post.  It gives you the prettiest glow and revives tired looking skin.

Charlotte Tilbury mascara

I’m still thinking about getting lash extensions but I seriously love this mascara (and as you can see from the reviews so does everyone else!!!)

Dry brush

Read all about the benefits of dry brushing here!

Sisley face cream

This anti-aging face cream is thick and creamy.  I notice a significant difference in the texture and lines in my forehead and around my eyes when I use this.  It’s incredibly expensive so I like to rotate it with a few other face creams to make it last longer!

Clarisonic uplift

Thanks to Lauryn from The Skinny Confidential for turning me onto this device!  She is always talking about the benefits of lymphatic drainage facials (remember when I talked  about them in this post after going to Provence?) The Clarisonic uplift allows you to give yourself a lymph massage every single day!  I use it for 5 minutes in the morning with this face oil and instantly feel more awake, de-puffed, and my makeup goes on better.  I believe if you already have a Clarisonic you can just purchase this head and clip it on!

Aerin hand soap and body wash

I am obsessed with this scent!  Vanilla with a touch of amber = dreamy and luxurious.  It’s inspired by Morocco and comes in the chicest packaging!

Dr. Jart SPF

I’ve said it before, but I’m not very good about remembering to apply SPF.  It’s something I know I need to do and am trying to work on being more religious about this year!  I really like the consistency of this SPF – and I also like using Supergoop’s SPF mist especially after I’ve already done my makeup.

How do you apply your foundation? I’m trying to find a way to make my foundation look like good skin, but I feel like I always look like I’m wearing makeup.

I honestly just use my fingers! I pump out a nickel size of foundation on my fingers and rub into my skin like a lotion!

Native is the best all natural deodorant I have found, it doesn’t keep you completely dry but you never smell. I never bought into the natural deodorants because I could never find one that worked, but native is great!

Great post! Off topic, but I love your decor! How do you keep all your white colored rugs and linens so clean? Does your fur baby bring in any dirt?

Thank you! Oh it’s all an illusion LOL I’ve definitely got dirt spots/marks!!! My puppy drags in dirt and has stained a few pieces – plus friends eat/drink on my rugs and furniture – but it’s the price I pay for loving all white!! Every few months I have a professional cleaner comes which is a huge huge help!
