Who doesn’t love the 4th of July?! It’s such a fun time to bring friends and family together, eat, drink and be merry. This year, I threw a BBQ with Stella Artois as a part of their #HostOnetoRemember series at my girlfriend’s house in the Palisades. My friend is the ultimate party planner and lives to plan events. She had the best ideas when it came to this menu and kept texting me inspiration shots throughout the week. For this BBQ, she brought in a wonderful local chef and had him whip up mini sliders, corn on the cob, sweet potato fries, chicken skewers, a burrata + arugula + grilled peach salad, a watermelon + feta + mint salad, cherry and apple pies pies, plus plenty of veggies, cheese, chips and nuts for appetizers. The bite size bruschetta was one of the biggest hits. I kept the flowers simple and placed white hydrangea in a clear glass vase with a few festive American flags dispersed throughout the spread. For a BBQ, it’s best to keep the flowers and decoration simple and let the food + music do the talking. Everyone loves Stella so we put out the classic Lagre and Stella Artois Apple Cidre (which is so crisp + refreshing!) in a big silver bucket of ice on the table making it easily accessible. At the end of the day, we all went to the pool area and sat around stripe blankets on the lawn and played croquet. The BBQ was a huge success and I can’t wait to re-create it next year at my place!
