I had so much fun throwing my best friend from college a Galentine’s Day Party for her 30th birthday last weekend! She had been talking about renting out a space, or doing a huge dinner with a prix fixed menu but nothing sounded better than a girlie party in the comfort of my home. I truly love entertaining and have gotten it down to a bit of a science after all of the parties I’ve hosted this year! I laid out a variety of roses in white and blush tones in my kitchen and bar area, and placed sweet treats and berries in small bowls and on cake plates. Guests each had their own mini Moet bottles waiting for them as well as a bounty of other drinks to choose from! When it comes to entertaining, my top 5 tips for hosting a great event are; 1. Candles make a huge difference! Light a few candles inside and out to really set the tone 2. Convert your light switches into dimmers (a Task Rabbit or hanydman can easily do this for you!) Dimming the lights creates such a nice ambiance 3. Have a mix of bite size salty apps and sweet treats (my faves are: chips + guac, carrots + hummus, popcorn, mini cupcakes, spiced nuts and chocolate covered pretzels) 4. Always have extra chilled champagne in the fridge!!! You never want to run out of booze 5. Have a good playlist running in the background that fits the crowd/vibe – you can never go wrong with anything from Odesza, Tep No, or Arizona. You can search my party playlists under my name on Spotify! I couldn’t resist letting Charlie in on the fun and he was a huge hit as always ;) He was pretty much a vacuum the whole night eating everyone’s scraps hehe! I wore this off the shoulder Saylor dress that also comes in this beautiful floral pattern (perfect for spring which is right around the corner.) My dress is currently 40% off and would look gorg with a leather jacket thrown over it!
