My Upper East Side Closet

New York, NY
Turning my bedroom into an office + dressing room + walk in closet turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.  I love having my clothes and shoes out in the open instead of jammed into our actual closet which is teeny tiny.  Tommy and I each have our own clothing rack…although sometimes I sneak overflowing clothes onto his (shh!)  I’m selling a few select pieces from my closet on Vaunte so be sure to shop the sale and check out all of the other amazing stuff they have – (their Missoni selection is too good.)

Amazing! Love this. I have a garment rack in my bedroom, in addition to the closet, but wish I had an extra bedroom to do this!

    xo honestly, b.

Surprisingly no but my shoes get a bit dusty on the ground so I am constantly swiffering haha ;)

This is a great idea. If I can see everything, it makes getting dressed so much easier and I tend not to overlook stuff as often. Plus having everything out in the open is the perfect incentive to keep it organized!

I have turned my bedroom into my closet as well and LOVE it! So much easier to navigate around and more room for new purchases!

Agreed! I have all my clothes out of the closet and on a rack we secured to the wall. Seeing everything I have makes it way easier to wear all my pieces more regularly. Plus it's really visually interesting in my opinion. Love this!

I LOVE your style and I LOVE how you incorporated the rolling rack into your room for actual storage, I used to have one too! Living in NYC, I have become a master at maximizing small spaces, so if you are in need of any inspiration, please check out my blog :-)

  • How to Incorporate Color and Pattern Into Your Space (Without It Looking Crazy) - York Avenue says:

[…] Sometimes you can get confused looking at other spaces on Pinterest and blogs and lose sight of what your style really is. This happened to me at a certain point with the whole neutral, earthy look – I love it, but it’s just not me. So I think when looking to get color into your home, it can help to look to your closet – what colors and patterns are you drawn to? See if you can pull out any recurring themes that could translate to your space. Funnily enough, I actually need to do this the opposite way – my closet is strangely devoid of color and pattern and I’d really like to add some in! I think it’s just harder to find patterned clothes that I love than it is to find patterned decor that I love. (above closet from Kat Tanita’s home tour). […]
