I’ve been taking full advantage of my backyard (a true luxury coming from NYC!) and hosting tons of BBQs and outdoor dinner parties. I had so much fun partnering with Callie Collection Wines for this dinner party and shared three of their delicious blends with my friends. Their Pinot Grigio is a blend of honeydew, citrus and pear – which is so light and crisp – ideal for summer. Their Red Blend has hints of blackberry, strawberry, vanilla and caramel (yep, it’s as good as it sounds!), and their Chardonnay is rich and creamy just how you’d want it to be – with a really nice pineapple undertone. All of their wine is made right here in beautiful California – and the flower on their logo is a colorful California poppy! I incorporated all local, California flavors into my appetizers and entrees and added this fun pop of orange into the place settings. I picked up fresh tartines with the freshest ingredients from my favorite bakery Gjusta, put together a cheese plate with ripe figs and honey, whipped up a salad with juicy peaches, burrata and prosciutto, and left out a big crudite platter and bowl of cherries for guests to munch on. I picked up orange and white tulips, hydrangeas and sherbet colored roses. I left the extra bottles of wine chilling in a silver bucket on the bench and tied a festive checker towel around the bottle in use for guests to pass around. The party was a huge success (with an appearance from my new puppy Charlie!) and I’m already looking for another excuse to throw another ;)!
