The editor’s letter in Elle Decor last month really struck a chord in me. It was about the lost art of entertaining at home and how rare it is nowadays to get invited to a friend’s place for dinner or cocktails (especially in NYC.) He talked about the importance of bringing tradition back by hosting a dinner party or sipping a cocktail around your bar cart before heading out. I could not agree more! I’m always meeting friends out – at a new bar or restaurant – but there’s really nothing like relaxing on a girlfriend’s couch with a glass of champagne am I right?! I was so inspired after reading the article that I decided to throw a spring brunch with Ralph Lauren’s tableware. For flowers, I picked up hydrangeas, tulips, and roses and placed them in julep cups. For food, I bought pastries and croissants from my local bakery, and made rosemary roasted potatoes, mini belgian waffles, spinach salad, scrambled eggs, and mixed berries. I popped a little bubbly and voila brunch was ready to be enjoyed with two girlfriends!
