I’ve been baking wayyy more than usual and I’m not mad about it. Today I wanted to share the absolute BEST chocolate chip cookie recipe ever with you! I found this recipe years ago when I was living in LA, and have never looked back. It’s the only chocolate chip cookie recipe I’ll ever make!
BEST Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe
1 cup unsalted butter softened (2 sticks)
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar (dark or light doesn’t make a difference)
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp hot water
1/4 tsp salt
3 cups all purpose flour
2 cups chocolate chips
FYI this makes A LOT of cookies, so I often halve the recipe. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the egg one by one, then stir in the vanilla. Dissolve the baking soda in the hot water and add to the batter. Stir in the salt, flour, and chocolate chips. (I like to make my own chocolate chips and cut my favorite chocolate bars into big chunky pieces!) Scoop spoonfuls onto a parchment paper lined cookie sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Enjoy!
Cozy Outfit At Home
Remind me never to wear white again while baking with chocolate? LOL Luckily my pants made it out unscathed!!! Anyways, I’ve been living in sweatpants, so I thought I’d put on real pants for a few hours and it honestly felt so good. I felt more put together, but still comfortable. These white denim jeans from Walmart’s Fashion section have so much stretch to them and run true to size. I paired them with my favorite henley also from Walmart (they really do have the best basics!) I’m wearing a size small here. I also love pairing a simple cardigan over a plain white T, and can’t say enough good things about this one. I own it in grey, black, and this taupe color. I’m also eyeing this pretty knit one for spring and summer. I love the look of a light knit over a white sundress.
A few other pieces I love from Walmart’s Fashion section are this classic tote (I bought it for my sister’s bachelorette party over the summer and have gotten so much use out of it), these terry joggers, this casual hoodie, and these gorgeous gold lace up sandals. I also have my eye on this light blue floral dress and this fun denim jumpsuit.
