Summer Style on Bleecker

I have been soaking up every second of this gorgeous summer weather! It’s been in the 80s all week in NYC and I’ve been out and about, wearing all of my light summer pieces. I picked up this black silk skirt in Montauk the other weekend at the Bluestone Lane Collective boutique – and I love the way it drapes. It’s from a small Aussie designer and also comes in white. This skirt is super similar and only $78. I paired the slip skirt with a soft white button down from Abercrombie and tied it at the waist. This tied up blouse + skirt combo has become my go-to summer look and is perfect to throw on if I don’t know what to wear! Abercrombie has the best button downs if you’re looking for a few new ones to spruce up your wardrobe! These lace up sandals are a few seasons old from Club Monaco. They carry this pair online now, and then this Madewell pair is super similar. I own them in the darker brown color and can attest they’re great quality/comfortable to walk for long periods of time in. I was strolling along Bleecker Street in the West Village the other day and was so excited to see that The Daily Edited opened a shop there now! Honestly, I love their leather luggage, cosmetic cases and iPhone cases. I picked up this cute monogram iPhone case at the boutique and it was ready in 15 minutes. You can customize the font and colors – so fun right?!

Easy Summer Outfit

Summer in NYC is HOT and HUMID. You step outside and are pretty much drenched in sweat 15 minutes later lol. So the key for getting dressed in the summer is finding LIGHT pieces that are breathable and relaxed. This is my go-to easy summer outfit. You’ll never believe that this skirt is under $30! Yes! H&M has the cutest stuff from apparel to home goods – and I am particularly loving their skirt selection this season. You know I love a midi length anything, and they have a zillion midi length skirts that flatter any silhouette. The skirt I’m wearing also comes in a red floral pattern. I currently have my eye on this simple black cotton skirt! It’s soooo airy, lightweight and looks cute for running errands, a casual dinner date, brunch with the girls, or shopping. I love tying a simple white button down at the waist with a skirt like this. Your waist instantly gets cinched and it’s a more playful take on a classic button down. Abercrombie is another brand that has really been stepping up their game and has a ton of affordable, well made, summery pieces. For accessories, I brought out my favorite leather bucket bag from Mansur Gavriel that I’ve had for years. I also have it in the tan leather and have worn it to death. They’re such quality bags and will be in style for years to come. I’ve gotten a lot of questions asking if these Hermes Oran sandals are worth it – and in my opinion, yes they are. They’re another quality staple piece that I’ve worn into the ground and that have really held up. They’re timeless and soooo comfortable. A Lightweight Summer Trench Coat

It’s been rainy and humid all week in NYC so I’ve been wearing this lightweight trench coat from ba&sh over everything. I love the draped cut, classic buttons, and taupe color which looks good on every skin tone. I have several trench coats, but this is one of my favorites for summer because it’s so breathable and loose. There are a ton of lightweight summer trench coats on the market, and if you don’t already own one; I highly recommend investing in this versatile piece of outerwear. Pair it with a little white dress, black slip dress, jeans, a travel look, even sweats, you name it. This ba&sh one is a bit of a splurge, but I also really like this one, this one and this one. I love pairing a trench coat with white denim. These are such a great pair of distressed white denim jeans from none other than L’Agence. They’re a high waisted cut, with just the right amount of rips. I also love these white jeans with a frayed edge and no rips in case you’re not into knee rips. I recently bought this T by Alexander Wang tank and am so impressed with the quality. It’s made of a super thick cotton, with ribbed edges, and cut on the shorter side so it’s flattering when you tuck it into tight jeans. It’s simple and chic – and can be paired with everything from a leather pencil skirt to white denim like I did here, blue jeans, or even a beige trouser. If you’re ever stumped on what to wear; you can pretty much never go wrong with the combo of a trench, skinny jeans, and a stripe T. Shop my entire outfit below. Enjoy your weekend!

A Timeless Outfit

During the week, you’ll usually find me in a timeless outfit consisting of: jeans, a blazer, and a simple T or cami. If I have a meeting, I’ll throw on heels, but if I’m just grabbing lunch with a friend, I’ll wear my Hermes Oran sandals. I like to bring a big bag so I can carry an extra pair of shoes just in case plans change. I often get asked how I can walk in heels around the city; the truth is I carry flats with me or Uber! I can realistically walk about 20 minutes or so in heels until I reach the point of no return haha. These heels are under $35 and WAY easier to walk in then my other pairs. Everyone needs an inexpensive pair of strappy black sandals – especially if you live in NYC. The streets and weather BEAT your shoes up! I love a black blazer with gold buttons because it adds just the right amount of glamour and sophistication to a classic piece. Pair it with a simple white V-neck and chunky gold jewelry. This black blazer, this one, and this one are all great quality. (I can attest to that because I’ve tried them all on!) I ordered these Levi’s after seeing them on Helena and LOVE the way they look. They’re definitely not stretchy and take 1-2 times to break them in, but once they do – you’ll be hooked and always reach for them. The cutout in both knees is perfectly proportioned and somehow still looks put together/not overly distressed. I could see a white ruffle, off the shoulder top looking beautiful paired with these.
