A Summer Picnic

The weather has been so gorgeous here so Thomas and I have been spending most of our time in his backyard. We set up a little picnic with wine and cheese the other night and it was so romantic! I wanted to wear something light and breathable so I threw on this chic kaftan. Thomas’ mom and sister saw it on me and loved it so much they each ordered one too! It’s selling out fast, so I highly recommend snapping it up before it goes! Summer Kaftan This white kaftan has the most beautiful eyelet details and a drawstring waist which makes it great for any shape or size. I’m wearing the S/M here and added my own slip underneath. It’s ideal for day or night with a slip, and also would be perfect as a pool/beach coverup. It comes in 4 colors; white, red, blue (LOVE!), and black. It’s from the Scoop collection at Walmart Fashion which has so many great dresses for summer. Chic Pieces For Summer A few other dresses I ordered from the Scoop line at Walmart Fashion, are this easy strapless white dress, this off the shoulder eyelet dress, and this floral ruffle sleeve dress (I also have it in pink.) If you’re looking for a new white blazer, you can’t go wrong with this linen one. And I’ve said it before, but I can’t get enough of this white eyelet cardigan. Walmart Fashion recently added this tan peasant blouse to the site – and I immediately ordered to wear with white jeans. Affordable Accessories If you’re in need of a coverup – this pink tie dye sarong is quite fun. Also really love this straw hat (FYI it’s an oversized fit.) I modified it by cutting off the cord so it’s more simple and streamlined. If you’re looking for a gold gladiator style sandal – these simple lace up ones are SO comfy, have a padded sole and also come in black. Shop the entire Scoop collection at Walmart Fashion below!

Peonies for Spring

Peonies for Spring I’ve been dying to get my hands on peonies to brighten up our apartment and finally found some across from one of my favorite restaurants in Soho; Little Prince. They had multiple colors, so I bought a few in every color to place around our home! I haven’t splurged on flowers in a while and let me tell you, it was 100% worth it. They really do elevate and change the entire vibe in a space. Relaxed Everyday Jeans The weather has been heating up in NYC (finally!!!) so I wore these comfy, high waisted straight leg jeans from Jordache Vintage (available exclusively at Walmart Fashion) the day we got our flowers. It’s funny because Jordache jeans were actually the first pair of “adult” jeans I ever bought. They make your butt look amazing – yep they really do! T even said “Woah! I like those on you!” when I walked out in them haha. I love the denim wash on these (not too light, not too dark), and the slight stretch/relaxed fit. I hate when jeans stretch out too much. And these allow you to actually move around in them without completely changing shape. I cuffed mine at the bottom for an even more relaxed look. I can attest that they look really cute dressed up with heels – I tried them on with a cute pair of block heels. The subtle detail on the side and pockets flatters any body type. They are a great, go-to, everyday blue jean (and major plus, they’re under $27.) FYI they run TTS, but if you want a tighter fit size down (I’m wearing a size 27 here.) Simple Black Tank I paired these jeans with a simple black top also from Jordache’s new vintage collection at Walmart Fashion. It’s ideal to throw on for casual errands around the city or even just to wear around the house. It runs true to size, but if you’re in between sizes I would size down since it is a longer cut. TBH it’s even a great workout top! Shop the rest of the Jordache Vintage collection at Walmart Fashion below (btw how cute are these denim shorts – and this hoodie too?)

Casual Chambray Outfit

Casual Chambray OutfitOne of my go-to summer outfits consists of white jeans + a chambray top. I love the way white denim looks paired with a light blue button down. It’s classic and easy for summer nights at home, grabbing take out or biking to the beach. I have several pairs of white jeans and chambray tops, but I wanted to highlight the ones that I’ve continually re-bought over the years! Best White JeansWhen it comes to white jeans, I feel like I’ve tried every single brand of white jeans on the market!!! It’s been a lot of trial and error over the years but I can confidently recommend these 4 brands; L’Agence, Madewell, Time and Tru and Banana Republic. The L’Agence ones I have are this style. They are super stretchy so definitely size down. If you’re tall you won’t need to get the pants tailored, but if you’re on the shorter side, cuff them or hem them a few inches for sure. You can’t go wrong with Madewell jeans – they have just the right amount of stretch and fit true to size. Banana Republic jeans are made of a really solid quality of denim – I have the wide leg version of these. I also really like these Time and Tru budget-friendly white jeans for under $20. They run big so size down. Best Chambray TopsMy two favorite chambray button downs come from; J.Crew and Rails. The J.Crew one is slightly stiffer (but not too stiff), and a medium colored blue wash. It looks amazing tucked into a leather skirt, darker pair of blue jeans, or open with a tank underneath. The Rails one is buttery soft and feels heavenly on! It’s a longer style so it’s best worn out, because it’s a lot of fabric to tuck into pants. I like to pair it with a bodysuit or white tank underneath. NYC Rooftop Dinner

Thomas and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary on our rooftop last week! It was the most beautiful night and we enjoyed a delicious meal from one of our favorite restaurants; Carbone. The spicy rigatoni dish is to die for! An Elegant TablescapeI wanted to make our table look elegant and effortless. I put out a white linen tablecloth, navy blue linen napkins, silver napkin rings, and rattan placemats. My glassware is from Hudson Grace, and my silverware is actually from Bed, Bath and Beyond a few years ago! I put simple white hydrangeas in a clear glass pitcher for a relaxed, summery look. Tapered white candlesticks completed the table. Blue Floral Top + Skirt SetThis blue floral top + skirt set has been hanging in my closet for months waiting to be worn! It’s from one of my favorite brands; Misa Los Angeles. They make the most stunning colorful, printed pieces. I modified this top and scrunched the middle together to make it into a crop top. I used a safety pin to hold the fabric together – such an easy little DIY crop top hack! I have 2 of these Misa skirts and they’re even prettier in person. What I love about them is that they have a comfortable elastic waist, flow beautifully when you move, and are super flattering. They’re also made of a wrinkle resistant material so you legit never have to steam or iron them. AccessoriesFor shoes, I wore my favorite Aquazzura lace up sandals. Their heels are 100% worth the splurge because they last forever, never go out of style, and don’t kill your feet when you walk in them! I put on these fun V. Chapman gold cross earrings for a Dolce & Gabbana, Italian inspired look and kept the rest of my jewelry simple. These earrings have quickly become my go-to for date night!
