What I Wore To My Bridal Shower

I had so much fun celebrating my bridal shower surrounded by my friends and family. You can see all the details from the special day here, and all of my outfit details within this post below. And here’s a look at the front of my dress! My Bridal Shower Dress I wore this beautiful white eyelet Monique Lhuillier dress to my bridal shower. Like most bridal dresses, it runs small, so if you’re in between sizes, definitely size up. The material is a gorgeous cotton-like eyelet, and it’s fully lined so it’s not see through. The back of the dress dips low (not too low), but just enough where it looks really feminine and flattering. This is a really similar option to the one I wore! White Bridal Shower Dresses If you’re looking for a white eyelet dress option, I recommend this one, this one, this one and this one. If you’re interested in dress options that cover your arms – this one, this one and this one are so pretty. If you’re leaning toward a white lace dress, I recommend this one, this one, this one or this one. And if you’re looking for something that is on the longer side, I love this one, this one, this one and this one! Bridal Shower Accessories I wore a nude Gucci clutch from years ago to my bridal shower (sadly sold out, similar here), but I love this YSL clutch and this one (for a white option.) I wore these Stuart Weitzman Nudistsong heels (they also come in patent leather.) If you want a lower heel – these pearl block heels are stunning. For jewelry, I wore my same charm earrings that I always wear, but if you want to do a pearl earring option – these are beautiful! Bridal Shower Guest Dresses If you’re attending a bridal shower as a guest, it’s best not to wear white out of respect for the bride. I suggest something colorful and fun like this blue + white dress, this one (you may recognize – I have it!), or even a coral knit dress like this or this. Be sure to check out my Bridal Favorites page which is packed full of other options! Monique Lhuillier dress (also love this one and this one)Stuart Weitzman heels (also love these and these)

What I Wore To My Bachelorette

The night before my bridal shower, a few of my closest friends planned an intimate dinner at Soho House to celebrate! It was so special to see everyone – many friends I hadn’t seen in months and months because they live on the West Coast. We all sat around the table talking, eating, drinking and swapping stories for hours before heading home in a huge stretch limo. One of my girlfriends surprised me and read answers to questions she had asked Thomas about me beforehand. It was the perfect, low key bachelorette without any of the typical paraphernalia and drama that often accompanies them. Shout out to all of my fellow ambiverts and introverts who appreciate a low key vibe. What I wore to my bacheloretteI had this little white dress hanging in my closet for over a year. Funny enough I bought it right before the pandemic and figured I could wear it to an event. I’m so glad I was able to save it for the occasion because it was ideal for the night! Sadly it’s out of stock (I really hope they bring it back, maybe if enough of you request it?), but I will link several similar options below and you can always find my bridal picks on my Favorite Things page! I paired my white dress with an old Gucci blush leather clutch and these sparkly fun Stuart Weitzman Nudistong heels. Bachelorette makeupI did my own makeup with my go-to smoky eye created using this YSL palette. Also, I wore 3 layers of this mascara and tons of Charlotte Tilbury highlighter (the best!) I mixed my Necessaire body lotion with the Tom Ford body oil for glowy skin.

Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale

The Nordstrom Half Yearly sale is always full of heavily discounted goodies! I went through the entire sale section and rounded up my absolute favorite styles. Be sure to take advantage of the markdowns which end June 6! Nordstrom Half Yearly SaleJacketsThis leather jacket is under $50 and I can attest that it looks way more expensive than that! I’ve seen it and felt it in store. This is such a beautiful camel colored leather jacket. This is a great camel wool coat (size down) and this is an elegant houndstooth coat. TopsThe nude bodysuit I’m wearing here is one of my favorites. So flattering and on sale for under $25. I actually sized down in it for that super tight/more going out date night vibe, but it runs pretty true to size. Other bodysuits I’m loving are this one ($21), this knit one (SO chic) and this one. I love this long sleeve sweater top, this silky button down (I would wear it tied at the waist with white jeans), and this blouse (I would do the same thing.) SkirtsI just ordered this neutral knit skirt. I can see myself wearing it with a knotted T-shirt, knotted silk blouse, or bodysuit and jacket. This one is super similar. DressesThere are some amazing deals included in the dress section. This black dress would be great for a wedding, love this white dress for a girls night out, and the back of this dress is really sexy and it’s under $65. Shop more of my Nordstrom sale picks below!

What To Wear: Engagement Photos

One of the most frequently-asked-questions I’ve received since getting engaged has been, “What should I wear for my engagement photos?” I shared what I wore to our engagement in this post, but wanted to share more options below! What To Wear: Engagement Photos All White Engagement Outfits You don’t have to wear white for your engagement photos, but I really do love an all white outfit! I think it’s special to wear a ton of white leading up to your wedding. I’ll link a few styles I love below, but since things tend to sell out quickly, I’ll also share the retailers and brands I recommend looking at first for white outfits. For retailers, I’m always able to find beautiful pieces at; Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, The Outnet, Moda Operandi, Intermix, and Net A Porter. I particularly love the brands; Zimmermann, Faithfull, Alexis and Love Shack Fancy for romantic, ethereal white dresses. I’m loving this dress, this dress, this dress, this dress, this dress, this dress, and this dress. I also love a two piece set like I wore, with a crop top and midi skirt! Dressy or Casual You can choose to wear something dressy or more casual – there are no rules when it comes to picking out an outfit for engagement photos! My advice is to take into account your location, and what your partner is willing to wear/will look good in. From there, I’d order a few options and lay out your looks on the bed with your partner’s looks to see what will feel cohesive. And who says you can’t shoot more than one outfit?! One dressy, one casual! Non white engagement outfits I love a subtle floral midi dress that feels feminine with a touch of bohemian. I also love a pop of color like a soft pink or blue. A few dresses I’d opt for are this one, this one, this one and this one. And this navy blue wrap dress is so elegant (also comes in pink!) Shoes to wear to an engagement shoot Your shoe choice will depend on your location and dress style. If you’re doing a more formal dress, you can never go wrong with the Alexandre Birman Clarita sandal (comes in multiple colors) or the Stuart Weitzman nudistong heel. For the fall, I love a subtle suede taupe or brown leather boot with a floral midi dress. A gold or light brown sandal (love a lace up or thong style) would be beautiful with a more casual dress. I don’t love a wedge and I’m not a huge fan of a block heel in photos since they tend to look too chunky. I’d opt for something classic that elongates your legs. If you really love a loud shoe, I’d save it for your engagement party or rehearsal dinner! Jimmy Choo has some really fabulous ones. Accessories You don’t need to have a purse in the photos and I wouldn’t do loud jewelry. I’d stick with a pretty pearl earring like this or the gold charm earrings I always wear which are included in my favorite jewelry post. A gold necklace like this one or a white + gold necklace like this one would be perfect.
