Gramercy Park Hotel

When my mom and sister were in town a few weekends ago they stayed at the Gramercy Park Hotel.  I lived in their room all weekend and thoroughly enjoyed all of the amenities.  I can now easily say the GPH is my favorite hotel in NYC.  The history behind GPH is incredibly unique – it first opened in 1925 and was the headquarters for “high bohemia” – artists, musicians, and writers flocked to the hotel’s famous bar; The Rose bar.  GPH was renovated a few years ago, and artist Julian Schnabel designed the interiors.  He brought in beautiful Old World decor – red velvet drapes, quilted headboards, tasseled chairs, the massive chandelier and an impressive art collection (Warhol, Basquiat, Hirst.)  The hotel feels bohemian, luxurious, charming and eclectic.  It’s hard to explain how truly amazing the overall experience is so I highly recommend checking it out yourself!
