December is my favorite month. I love looking around my home and seeing it full of festive touches like lights, ornaments, stockings, garland and a tree. I always enjoy having friends over during the holidays … Right now is the perfect time to catch up before everyone takes off for Christmas and New Years.
I left most of my serving dishes and entertaining pieces behind when I moved out of my NYC apartment, so I’ve been building my collection back up. Jet.com has become one of my go-to sources for entertaining goodies for my holiday cocktail parties. They have a huge selection of wood cheese boards, silverware, dishes, cake plates, champagne glasses all at incredibly reasonable prices. This marble + wood serving board is only $32 and this gold cocktail shaker is only $20!
I wanted to share 5 easy tips that will help make your holiday cocktail party (even a last minute one!) seamless and fun (which is the whole point right?!)
- Have a delicious, signature cocktail chilled and ready using this cocktail shaker from Jet so when guests arrive they can instantly feel a part of the party!
Whip up my 3 step champagne cocktail – fill a coupe or flute 1/3 way with St. Germain elderflower liquor and top with champagne or prosecco. String cranberries on a sprig of rosemary as garnish! You can also use toothpicks. - Pre-order baked goods from your favorite local bakery and arrange them on a gorgeous cutting board like this one via Jet.
I love Huckleberry bakery in LA and The Little Cupcake Bakeshop in NYC. Ordering baked goods is so much easier than making them – you save yourself time and a big mess in the kitchen! - Don’t be afraid to mix gold and silver decor elements – especially for a holiday party.
I ordered beautiful hammered silverware and mixed them with this gold cocktail shaker. It’s no longer a faux pas to mix and match in today’s day and age! - Use rosemary sprigs and fun printed napkins to dress up simple white dinner plates (this set is $40 for 6!)
If you want a plate with a bit more detail – I love these ones with the gold rim and these classic black striped ones. - Place big wood cutting boards throughout the table to hold fruit, cheese, crackers, and sweet treats.
Wood boards are perfect for a backyard party and create a more rustic, welcoming feel. I’m always more inclined to reach for something on a wood board for some reason. It’s a nice way to relax the table setting and offsets the formal look of tall tapered candles!
And get creative with your flowers! It is 100% OK to veer away from traditional tall, full flower arrangements in vases. Those can sometimes get expensive and have been done many times before. I cut the flowers off the stems and dispersed them throughout the table for a more casual and relaxed holiday vibe! Shop all of my entertaining pieces from Jet below – like these gorgeous coupe glasses, this marble + wood cutting board, and these mini ramekin dishes!
Amazing table decors, I love it. ..
Such a pretty and festive setting! Well done!
