I love how French women keep their makeup au naturel during the day, and then add a bold lip at night. My girlfriend and I went to one of our favorite spots over the weekend and admired their overall effortlessness. Their look was simple and pretty; an LBD, messy bun, and red or pink lip. I came home inspired and started experimenting with three of Laura Mercier’s ultra soft Lip Parfait Creamy Colourbalms. I like that they don’t feel like a traditional lipstick – they’re much lighter and give off a shiny finish. They’re filled with Vitamins A, E, and C + Karite Butter which left my lips feeling hydrated and moisturized. The woman at the Laura Mercier counter suggested I try a lip pencil which I was hesitant about at first, but I can attest that it really does make a difference when you’re applying lipstick. It prevented the Lip Parfait from bleeding and really locked the color in. I loved combining the neutral Amaretto Swirl Lip Parfait with the Praline Lip Pencil for a subtle, everyday look. Shop both below!
This was a huge thing I noticed in Paris as well. I very much enjoyed how simple they keep things. I love the colors you chose too. So pretty!
