Best of Beauty: May

It’s already the end of June and I realized I haven’t done a Best of Beauty for May roundup. Better late than never right?! I’ve been testing quite a few new products, and using some old favorites on repeat lately, so I wanted to share everything I’m loving. Goop Face Oil I’ve raved about this face oil before and have been using it a lot more now that I have a Gua Sha tool. I dab a few drops on each cheek and run the tool along it to help with jaw tension and puffiness. I love the texture and smell, plus it’s super nourishing. Gua Sha This is such a great tool for sculpting your face and de-puffing. It’s so easy to use – just run it along your jawline with face oil. I use it about 3-4 times a week. Skin Medica Eye Cream I’ve tested hundreds of eye creams and found about 5 that I actually like. This is one of them. The consistency is really nice (not too thin, not too thick) and it absorbs really fast. It brightens the skin under your eyes and really hydrates the fine lines. Honest Beauty Mascara I’ve been wanting to find a clean mascara for years and am beyond impressed with this one. At first I was annoyed that you have to use the primer before applying it, but it takes 2 seconds and really does add length to your lashes. This is pretty much the only mascara I use now. Iluminage Eye Mask If you’re looking for an eye mask, look no further. I’ve used this one for years and it’s so comfortable. It’s wider than most masks and also adjustable. Supergoop Glowscreen I LOVE this sunscreen. It’s super light, sheer, and has just the right amount of highlight/tinted moisturizer/SPF coverage. I wear this everyday now. Foot Spa Bath Thomas’ mom bought us this spa pedicure foot bath a few weeks ago and we’ve been using it a ton. Since I haven’t been able to get a pedicure in months, this really does the trick. So relaxing. Lancome Juicy Tube Remember Lancome juicy tubes?! I used to buy these religiously in high school! They just came back so I ordered a few….and I just LOVE the way they look on. They give your lips a super high shine and smell amazing.

How To Clean Your Candles

Every time I share these empty jars of candles on Instagram, I always get questions asking me how to clean them so I thought I’d share this post. I love repurposing things – especially when they’re this aesthetically pleasing! It’s fun to see my favorite candle jars sitting out on my dresser, vanity, or bathroom counter rather than a boring cup or glass. How To Clean Your Candles Wait until your candle is almost done, but not to the point where you can see any glass at the bottom. Pop it into the freezer for about an hour or two. Take a spoon and crack the frozen wax, it should come up in 1-2 thick pieces. Wash the remaining residue with warm soapy water. So easy right?! You can also use the jars as drinking glasses (once thoroughly washed and sans label). Or vases for flowers around your apartment. I use an old Diptqyue 34 candle as a vase on my living room table and love the way it looks as opposed to a clear vase. My Favorite Candles My three favorite candles are Diptyque Vanille, Diptyque 34, and Byredo Bohemia. Do you repurpose your candles too? What are some of your favorite scents?

Best of Beauty: April

It’s hard to believe another month is over! Time has been flying by and it’s FINALLY starting to warm up which makes me so happy!!! Another month down means it’s time to share what beauty products really WOW’d me. I’ve been busy testing, testing, testing and so many products did not make the cut. I am super picky about what beauty products I use, so here are the ones that did make it! Giorgio Armani Foundation This has been pretty much the only foundation I’ve used since I started wearing foundation! It doesn’t clog your pores, can be applied with just your hands, and looks flawless on. Riki Vanity Mirror and Light It’s been extremely rainy and grey pretty much all of April here in NYC, so I’ve been needing the extra light for things like tweezing my brows! I also love using this light for IG videos because it brightens and smooths your skin! Sephora Nail Kit We’ve all been struggling to keep our nails looking decent and this little nail kit has all of the tools you need until you can make it back to the salon! RVL Skincare Toner Pads My dermatologist and friend Dr. Rita Linkner created these toner pads to prevent breakouts and shrink your pores. I’ve been using them on my T-zone and lightly around the rest of my face after I cleanse and they take anything left over off right away. Dyson Hairdryer I don’t blow dry my hair unless I absolutely need to which is about 2 days a year, but when I do I use this hairdryer. I have a ton of hair and it’s really thick, so it used to take me FOREVER to dry it, but this dries it in minutes – it’s crazy. Thomas stole it from me and uses it everyday – he loves it too! Sisley Mascara I’ve used a ton of mascaras and been disappointed in 95% of them. I keep coming back to this one and have been using it consistently for about 2 years now. I LOVE IT! It really lengthens, stays on all day, and doesn’t get clumpy. Charlotte Tilbury Highlighter I’ve mentioned this product a ton because it’s honestly the best highlighter. Just run your index finger through the highlighter part and then across your nose and cheeks and you look fresh faced and glowy! Sally Hansen Wax Strips Since salons aren’t open I haven’t been able to get waxed and have been relying on these Sally Hansen wax strips to get me by! Without these I would have a very hairy upper lip LOL. Unite Argan Oil I own a bunch of hair oils. They all smell great and come in pretty packaging. But the one thing that drives me nuts is that they just don’t absorb into my hair! They sit on top of it and make it feel weighed down and greasy. This oil actually seeps deep into the split ends and repairs them. Dae Deep Conditioning Treatment I’ve been raving about Dae lately because I really am impressed with how well the products work. The deep conditioning treatment is no different. I actually use it as an extra conditioner in the shower and leave it on for just 1 minute and wash it out once a week and it gives my hair SO much extra hydration. It says to leave it on for 10 minutes, but I see immediate results in 1 no joke! So those are the beauty products I LOVED this past April! What are some beauty products that really impressed you this month? I have a beauty cabinet full of new products to test out for this coming month and will be doing lots of giveaways on my IG stories so be on the lookout! Check out past month’s Best of Beauty: March and Best of Beauty: February.

Now is the PERFECT time to stock up on all of your beauty favorites + any new items you’ve been wanting to try. Sephora is offering 20% for all ROUGE members now, 15% off for all VIB members on 4/21, and 10% off for all INSIDERS with code SPRINGSAVE starting on 4/23. In this post, I’m going to share some of my tried and true products, plus a few things I’ve been dying to try after reading about them! Without further ado… Sephora Sale Picks Laneige Lip Mask I’d heard SO many things about this lip mask, and then it won an Allure beauty award so I knew it had to be good. I’m obsessed with all things Vanilla so I can’t wait to try this lip mask! Dr. Barbara Sturm Face Cream I JUST ran out of this face cream and am counting down the days until it arrives in the mail. I love the texture, consistency, and it’s a clean product. I also use her eye cream and am intrigued to try the glow drops next. Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen This is the sunscreen I wear everyday. It’s so lightweight and doesn’t irritate my skin. It feels like whipped butter and goes on completely clear! Charlotte Tilbury Highlighter I’ve been using this highlighter for YEARS and love the way it looks on. It’s so easy to apply (I legit just use my fingers) and it creates a really natural, pretty looking sheen on your cheekbones! I don’t use the sculpt color, but know a ton of people who love it (I’m just too lazy to apply it haha!) Concealer I’ve been wanting to test out a few new concealers and currently have my eye on this one and this one! Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation This foundation is creamy, silky and gives you flawless skin! I wear shade 6.5. Laura Mercier Caviar Eye Shadow Stick Another one of my beauty favorites, this eyeshadow stick makes applying eyeshadow a BREEZE, plus it makes any powder you apply over it last all day. My go-to base color is Rose Gold. Dermalogica Microfoliant Exfoliator This has been the only exfoliator I’ve used for the past 7 years and I can’t say enough good things about it. It’s so gentle, lathers beautifully, and I’ve gotten everyone I know hooked on it. It also just won an Allure beauty award. Dr. Dennis Gross Peel Pads Lauryn has been raving about these peel pads forever, along with a handful of other bloggers and I’ve been wanting to try them! Just ordered a pack and will share how I like them. Tan Luxe Face Drops I’ve raved about these face tan drops before, and created an IGTV specifically sharing how to use them. They give you the most natural looking tan (*a little goes a LONG way and you only need about 2-3 drops.) Dae Shampoo + Conditioner I have tried a zillion shampoos + conditioners over the years and this one really really WOWs me. It makes my hair so silky, shiny, and voluminous, plus it’s a clean product and smells so yummy. The deep conditioning treatment is also amazing. Hourglass Powder Brush This is a gorgeous brush that is 2 in 1! Use the thicker side for your blush/bronzer and the thinner side for setting powder. I use this every single day to apply setting powder in my T-zone. T3 1″ Curling Wand I’ve been using this wand for almost 6 months now and am so happy I made the switch. It’s such a high quality ceramic and gives me natural looking curls. It heats up in seconds which is a lifesaver when you’re in a rush. Sunday Riley Acne Oil This is my holy grail product for breakouts! I dab a little bit of it over any red blemishes and it instantly goes down. I also like to sleep with it on overnight. It dries out a zit faster than anything I’ve ever used. Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask This mask REALLY gets in there and cleans your skin. You will radiate after! Bonus it’s a clean product. A few other products I love that just went out of stock (although they may be restocking soon!) are this Farmacy honey mask and this L’Occitane lavender bubble bath. Shop everything else below!
