Valentine's Day Gift Guide

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner.  Whether you’re single or in a relationship, it’s a holiday that I think everyone should take advantage of ;)  I mean, it’s a holiday dedicated to love, romance, femininity, and indulgence!  Aka it’s the perfect excuse to buy yourself those gorgeous pair of heels you’ve been eyeing, a big box of chocolate, a new makeup set, a beautiful candle, a sexy lace something, new PJs, or a pamper day fit with a mani/pedi or blowout! I wanted to share a few things that are on my wish list, and items I’m treating to myself on this special holiday… Valentine’s Day Gift Guide Lingerie Let’s be real.  Most lingerie is super uncomfortable and itchy.  I’m all about comfort and believe that when you truly feel comfortable – you feel the most beautiful.  Men do appreciate lingerie every once in a while and it’s fun to surprise them and see their reaction!!!  I certainly don’t wear it all the time (I actually rarely wear bras now and opt for these instead), but when I do want to feel extra sexy I slip this on.  It’s soooo soft and feels like you’re wearing nothing.  It’s extremely flattering and has that wow factor – trust me!  I also love the thong version. Pajamas These Eberjey pajamas have been my go-tos forever.  They’re honestly the best.  Insanely cozy material, high quality, and a cute fit.  They come in a variety of colors too!  I also love their sleepshirts and chemises.  This silk robe is beautiful to throw on when you’re doing your makeup – or over a chemise. Beauty The Dyson hairdryer is totally worth the $.  I have extremely thick hair that usually takes forever to dry and this dries it insanely fast, plus it’s sleek and lightweight.  I love this Bobbi Brown limited edition pink eyeshadow palette because it has every color you’d ever want for day or night. Usually, I use a $40 Hot Tools iron to do my curls, but recently my hairstylist told me that a ceramic iron is much more gentle and heats up faster – she recommended this T3 one.  The Vintner’s Daughter active botanical serum lives up to the hype.  I’ve been using it for months and my skin is softer, more hydrated and my pores are gone.  Treat yourself! Chocolate Ok, so I’m a bit of a chocolate snob.  I LOVE chocolate and have tried a zillion different kinds.  I got sent a box of these Maggie Louise chocolates over Christmas and was SO impressed with the quality and taste.  Usually such “instagrammable” looking chocolates fall flat in the taste department, but these are made with top notch ingredients and are just as delicious as they look!  I also love Godiva (I mean, you can’t go wrong), and Nohmad Coconut Milk chocolate bars which I buy in bulk to keep in my fridge!  They’re gluten, soy and refined sugar free (but you’d never know it) and paleo + vegan friendly! Spice Things Up I never thought I’d be talking about lube on here, but it’s 2019 and I aim to be an open book!  If we’re being honest, I never used to like lube, but when Lauryn from The Skinny Confidential sent me a tube of Woo For Play, I decided to give it a try.  She always has the best recommendations and since this product is completely organic and natural with coconut oil and stevia – I knew I had nothing to lose by trying it!  It’s a game changer and makes everything taste and smell so good LOL – sorry if that’s TMI.  I’m just obsessed – seriously I love love love this product and had to share!!!! Other great Valentine’s Day gifts A Kitchen Aid mixer – yes please.  A massage at your favorite spa (I love these spas.)  Bose Noise Cancelling headpones – Derek loves these and they’re a game changer when I’ve borrowed them to travel with, or sit at my desk with during the day.  A Cuyana leather cosmetic case.  This pretty gold heart necklace (only $45!)  A fun feather bag (I just ordered this one in black.)  A limited edition Diptyque candle.

Winter Beauty Must Haves

With January-itis in full effect, we all could use a little pep in our step.  New makeup products ALWAYS lift my spirits and give me that extra boost I need when I’m feeling blahhh.  One makeup brand that I can count on to have beautiful, quality products is Bobbi Brown.  It was actually one of the first brands I bought when I started wearing makeup. Does anyone remember her book, “Teenage Beauty?”  Such a classic and taught me everything I needed to know about creating natural makeup looks.  I love that Bobbi’s products enhance your beauty rather than giving you a caked on appearance. Winter Beauty Must Haves:Two Bobbi Brown products I’ve been using for 10+ years are this eyeshadow in Mahogany (with a brow brush) to pencil in my eyebrows, and this bronzer in shade Bali Brown.  I know it sounds weird to use an eyeshadow for your brows, but trust me – it fills in all the little empty spots, and looks so natural.  The bronzer gives me that sunkissed look – and really makes my cheekbones pop.  I order both of these from Nordstrom every 6 months – they last a long time! Other Bobbi Brown products I’ve loved for years are her moisturizer and eye cream.  The smell and consistency are soooo nice and makeup layers really well over both.  Her lipgloss glides on flawlessly – you know how some lipgloss is too thick/tacky feeling?  This is the opposite!  I wear her Liquid Lip Balm in “Lychee Baby” from Nordstrom and it adds just the right amount of a warm pink color to my lips.  I also love the classic Nude lipgloss. Julia (who has the best lashes) got me hooked on the Eye Opening mascara – which she’s been wearing for ages!  If you’re looking for a new eyeshadow palette that’s a “one stop shop” buy this one.  It has the ideal mix of colors to create an everyday eye, a smoky eye, or something fun with a hint of sparkle.  The colors are so easy to work with and blend right into your crease.  Use this Cream Shadow stick in Vanilla as a base so your shadow stays put.  For flawless skin – you need this foundation and bonus it has SPF (saves me an extra step in my skincare routine!)  If you’re looking for a brush cleaner (it’s so important to clean your brushes regularly) this one will do the job. What are some of your favorite Bobbi Brown products?!  Shop all of my favorites from Nordstrom below!  And trust me, you need this eyeshadow palette!

My Holiday Beauty Must Have

If I had to choose 1 thing to focus on beauty wise for the holiday season it would be white teeth.  Your smile gives off such a strong impression when you first meet someone or walk into a room of people.  I always want my teeth and smile to look good, but especially when I have a jam packed social calendar! Crest 3D WhitestripsI’ve been using Crest 3D Whitestrips for over a decade – since I was a junior in high school!  I first started when I got asked to prom, and noticed my teeth were looking less than pearly white 2 weeks prior.  I stole my mom’s Whitestrips and they worked like a charm.  Honestly, I felt confident and beautiful and had the best time (despite my date being a total dud…lol.)  I’ve been using Whitestrips regularly ever since (they’re my secret weapon for white teeth!!!!) For the holiday season, I always like to amp up my whitening regimen and I just finished a “14 Day Challenge” of sorts using the Crest 3D White Glamorous White Whitestrips.  They’re so easy to use – I literally put them on first thing in the morning before I brush my teeth, and wear them for 30 minutes.  Within 3 days you start seeing results which is exciting and by Day 14 your results are amazing – trust me – and last up to 6 months.   They don’t slip and you can wear them while you’re talking on the phone, doing your makeup, dashing out to a holiday party – and you can even drink water in them. The first set of pictures is from when I started and was heading to a meeting, and the second set of pictures were pre-date night with Derek.  My teeth feel sparkly white and holiday ready :)  Amazon is including the Crest 3D White Glamorous White Whitestrips in their Cyber Monday sale so it’s the perfect excuse to snap them up and start your own 14 Day Challenge.  You can shop them here!

Fall Beauty Must Haves

I’ve been on a huge beauty testing kick and tried SO many amazing products this past month.  I wanted to share which ones I loved and have been consistently using in my beauty routine. I plan on doing another beauty giveaway this week so be sure to check my Stories to see how to enter! Fall Beauty Must Haves R+Co Dry Shampoo I used to wash my hair every.single.day.  I know, I know – so bad right?!  Thankfully my hairdresser educated me and told me to STOP washing it everyday and START using dry shampoo.  I have to be strategic about this, but it’s definitely made my hair healthier and grow even faster than usual.  I tested a bunch of dry shampoos and was pretty disappointed.  I need something strong since I get oily roots after only a day.  I loved the smell of Playa and the quality – but it wasn’t strong enough for me.  The one that really hit it out of the park was R+Co.  The smell is heavenly and a little goes a long way.  I am also OBSESSED with this Miriam Quevedo dry shampoo + volumizing spray.  I have super flat hair so this gives me the “oomph” I need! Gisou Heat Protectant Spray I had never used a heat protectant spray before blow drying or curling my hair until a few weeks ago…oops.  Once I started reading more about heat damage I realized I should absolutely be protecting my locks!  I had heard so many great things about Gisou; which is fashion and beauty blogger Negin Mirasalehi’s hair line.  When I got it, I first fell in love with the smell, and then I just loved how light and easy it was to use.  I simply spray it all over my hair, brush it out to distribute it, and then style it! Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask Wow.  This mask works.  You simply apply a light layer onto your face and wash it off 15 minutes later.  It completely gets rid of dead layers of skin and renews/rejuvenates your entire complexion.  If I don’t have time for a facial, or if I’m in between facials, I love using this about once a month.  Bonus it’s all natural! Lawless Brightening Translucent Powder and Foundation Speaking of all natural – I am so happy to have found a translucent setting powder that is TALC FREE.  Most setting powders have talc in them which some studies have shown to cause cancer – no thanks.  This powder works just as good and creates a beautiful softness in photos.  I’ve talked about this foundation before, but mentioning it here again because I love that it’s free of parabens, sulfates, and anything toxic!  It has a very thick coverage, so I dilute the mixture by adding my Sisley moisturizer in and using a beauty blender to dab it all over my face for a beautiful tan, glow.  FYI I wear shade Arizona which is equivalent to Armani shade 6.5. Cle de Peau Beauté SPF concealer I rarely used a concealer throughout my 20’s but now that I am almost 30 and my under eye tissue is more delicate, I like using one regularly.  This one has an SPF in it which protects that fragile area and hides any dark circles.  After polling many of you on Stories, you said your favorite concealers were this one and Nars.  I still haven’t tried the Nars one because I am so happy with this one – totally worth the $. Hourglass Bronzer/Highlighter This is a gorgeous highlighter!  I still love my Charlotte Tilbury highlighter, but this is perfect when you want a sun kissed glow and serious highlight.  It really makes your cheekbones pop. Chanel Paris-Venise Perfume This is one of Chanel’s newest fragrances and my favorite out of all of them.  Chanel perfume tends to remind me of my grandma – it’s a little too strong and floral, but this one is light, fresh, and perfect for day or night.  It’s not crazy overpowering and the ideal balance between vanilla and a faint floral! Sisley Volumizing Mascara When I first opened this mascara I was taken aback by the skinny wand and brush.  I thought no way this can be any good!  Welp, that was not the case.  It is freakishly good at lengthening lashes.  I use two swipes of this, let it dry for at least 5 minutes, and then apply a 3rd coat with my favorite Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lashes. Have you tried any of these beauty products?  Which ones do you love?  Do you like buying more all natural products or are hesitant to try them?  Do tell!
