The Quintessential Fall Door
Rebecca Dale Photography

One of my favorite things about NYC is the architecture.  I love wandering through my neighborhood and staring at all of the townhouses.  There’s charm everywhere I look; ivy growing up brick exteriors, window boxes filled with bright blooms, topiaries lining entryways.  This townhouse caught my eye last weekend.  The festive fall wreath, scarecrows, and pumpkins paired with the brick facade and green shutters make this the quintessential fall door.  I’m planning on making my entry a little more festive with a pretty wreath from One Kings Lane.  They have the best selection and they’re all on sale!  This one is at the top of my list.

I totally agree, one of my favorite things about the Upper East Side is the gorgeous architecture. I love checking out all of the charming townhouses with their different door knockers-it sounds kind of weird, but some of them have really cool ones! I love seeing them decked out for Halloween too-it's nice to see that the people who live in these amazing places have a sense of humor.

SO cute! I just spent a few days in NYC for the first time a couple of weeks ago. So much to see and so little time. I definitely plan on going back!

I love beautifully decorated entryways like these! I've even decorated my front porch a little, even though it's not all that usual here in Austria. However what's still missing is a pretty wreath for my front door. I have to make a trip to the flower shop soon. :)

I will be in NYC for 2 weeks of Christmas and New Years. I can't wait to see all the Christmas decorations! They don't do it like the New Yorkers here in Australia. This will also be my first time in NYC, any recommendations for places to visit at that time of year? X

How exciting!! I recommend going to Central Park, Salon de Ning at the Peninsula hotel for cocktails (the view is incredible), Plaza Food hotel downstairs at the Plaza hotel for dinner, walk around the West Village, shop in West Village and Soho (I love Otte, Scoop, Intermix, Madewell, and Calypso in that area!), Aria for a romantic dinner, Tea & Sympathy for breakfast – to name a few!! ;)

Wow! That’s really adorable. And I guess the wreath would be a perfect way to greet every guest that comes to your home. Thanks a lot for sharing this one.
