A Plaid Pantsuit

A pantsuit is polished, sophisticated and chic. It’s also a flattering style that looks good on any body type. You can bring it to life with a lace cami, a fabulous pump, a turtleneck, or even a red coat like this one. I had a holiday party to head to and didn’t feel like wearing a skirt or dress – so these plaid pieces were perfect. The pop of red brought the look from corporate to festive in under 2 seconds.

If you don’t already own a red coat, I love this one, this one and this one. I’ve styled red coats SO many different ways over the years – a few examples are here, here, and here. It’s especially fun to bring it out in December and throw it over a simple all black outfit or classic neutrals.

If you’re hesitant to try a pantsuit or feel it’s too formal, then just go with a great plaid trouser. I love a wide leg or tapered plaid trouser – this one is really fun and has sort of a 70s vibe, and this one is affordable and can be worn countless ways.
