Meaningful Gifts

When it comes to buying gifts, there are several factors I look for.  One factor that’s become increasingly important is if it’s meaningful.  I want a gift that is beautiful and unique – but that also has a special message behind it. I love that L’Occitane not only makes stunning products and gift sets, but that they also give back in a really big way. You may remember I had the opportunity to fly to Provence with the L’Occitane team two summers ago!   I was able to visit their factory, lavender fields, farms, shops, and even chat one on one with the founder; Olivier Baussan.  He is one of the most hard working, kind and down to earth entrepreneurs I’ve ever met, and he has built an absolutely incredible company that people all over the world adore.  Each L’Occitane product is sourced with the finest ingredients from local farms and they support the artisans – particularly female artisans. Meaningful GiftsIt’s become a tradition to give my mom something from L’Occitane’s lavender collection every year because she is obsessed with lavender!  This year we opened gifts early since she was visiting me in LA for Thanksgiving :)  This pretty lavender gift set could not have been more perfect because it has one of everything she loves; the bubble bath, lavender sachet, hand cream, hand wash, body soap, and body lotion.  It comes in a bright red, festive box and is insanely reasonable at under $75. My mom gave me the L’Occitane Blooming Rose Treasures giftbox which smells absolutely heavenly.  The body milk and little eau de toilette were my favorite pieces from the collection!  I love that there’s literally no wrapping required with these gift sets because the box is just so festive itself! Shop more of my favorite pieces from L’Occitane below – like the Immortelle Divine collection (one of my fave moisturizers), the Shea Butter trio, and the Almond cleanse and exfoliate duo.  And how perfect is this as a stocker stuffer?!

My Holiday Beauty Must Have

If I had to choose 1 thing to focus on beauty wise for the holiday season it would be white teeth.  Your smile gives off such a strong impression when you first meet someone or walk into a room of people.  I always want my teeth and smile to look good, but especially when I have a jam packed social calendar! Crest 3D WhitestripsI’ve been using Crest 3D Whitestrips for over a decade – since I was a junior in high school!  I first started when I got asked to prom, and noticed my teeth were looking less than pearly white 2 weeks prior.  I stole my mom’s Whitestrips and they worked like a charm.  Honestly, I felt confident and beautiful and had the best time (despite my date being a total dud…lol.)  I’ve been using Whitestrips regularly ever since (they’re my secret weapon for white teeth!!!!) For the holiday season, I always like to amp up my whitening regimen and I just finished a “14 Day Challenge” of sorts using the Crest 3D White Glamorous White Whitestrips.  They’re so easy to use – I literally put them on first thing in the morning before I brush my teeth, and wear them for 30 minutes.  Within 3 days you start seeing results which is exciting and by Day 14 your results are amazing – trust me – and last up to 6 months.   They don’t slip and you can wear them while you’re talking on the phone, doing your makeup, dashing out to a holiday party – and you can even drink water in them. The first set of pictures is from when I started and was heading to a meeting, and the second set of pictures were pre-date night with Derek.  My teeth feel sparkly white and holiday ready :)  Amazon is including the Crest 3D White Glamorous White Whitestrips in their Cyber Monday sale so it’s the perfect excuse to snap them up and start your own 14 Day Challenge.  You can shop them here!

Thankful

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you are somewhere warm, cozy and safe surrounded by loved ones.  Thanksgiving has become more and more meaningful to me as the years go by.  It’s such a beautiful holiday that reminds you to think about everything you’re grateful for, rest, relax, and spend time with friends and family. This year my mom is visiting me here in LA.  My sister is in Paris with her fiancé, and my dad is in Arizona with his new fiancé!  I’m forever grateful for my family – for their health, for their happiness and constant support.    They are always there for me through the thick and thin.  They give the best advice, make me laugh, and even help me with my blog – like choosing photos (often at all hours of the night!) I’m so grateful for Derek.  He accepts me for me – flaws and all, and never judges me or holds anything against me.  He is the most patient person I’ve ever met and insanely understanding even when I’ve been scared to trust or let him fully in (because of being hurt from my last relationship.)  His unwavering support means the world to me. I’m so grateful for Charlie!  He’s my best friend and the most amazing dog.  He is the sweetest boy and always right by my side.  I’m pretty much obsessed with him (as evident from my Stories!) I’m grateful for my best friends.  Some of which I’ve had since Kindergarten, some of which I’ve had since college, and some from my time in NYC and LA.  These people are family to me and my ride or dies.  They make me laugh so hard until my stomach hurts and they listen to me vent, cry, or share in my excitement day in and day out – no matter what. I’m grateful for my health.  After 3 years I have finally healed my digestion and no longer suffer from debilitating stomach pains.  It was a long, frustrating journey to get here, but I stuck with it and I didn’t stop researching and experimenting until I felt better.  I feel like myself again! I’m grateful for my job.  I get to do what I’m passionate about every day and I get to connect with, share and inspire women all over the world.  Also, I get to constantly meet new people, try new things, experience new things, and learn something new everyday.  I get to be innovative, creative, and a role model. I’m grateful for my missteps, errors, problems, and traumas.  They’ve shaped me to be who I am. They have taught me so much and have pushed me to do better.  They have allowed me to have a different perspective. Also, they have opened new doors for me.  They have shown me how strong, resilient and tough I am. And finally, I am thankful for you.  With Love From Kat started 8 years ago as a blogspot when I was 22 years old working as a nanny.  It was my happy place that I would go and write every free second I had about everything I was passionate about.  2 people were reading it at the time, then 10, then 100, then 1000, and now half a million of you are following, reading, commenting, sharing, and inspiring ME everyday.  You guys have taught me so much.  You have pushed me to be better, share more, open up.  Also, you have made my job 10x more fun and enjoyable. I love you for not only reading my blog and supporting me professionally, but also supporting me personally.  So many of you have sent me touching messages and emails over the years and I appreciate each and every one. I’m seriously so grateful for this community of women!!!  Sending you so much love on this special day! <3 Kat
