July 4th Style

I’m heading to Nantucket this weekend and Connecticut next week for July 4th and wanted to share a few things I’ll be packing! For Dresses… Of course they are both from Reformation ;) I just bought this red floral dress and am OBSESSED with the color and pattern. I now have my eye on this dainty printed blue dress. And For Shoes… I love these Madewell lace up sandals. They’re affordable and have held up season after season for me. They come in 3 different color ways. Since Nantucket is so casual, I don’t want to bring stilettos, so I’m packing these block sandals from Sole Society. Next, For The Beach… I’m bringing my favorite AGolde denim cut offs, this leopard bikini (also love the pattern and cut of this one), and these aviator sunglasses. I also love this beach tote which just went on sale. I just ordered the perfect coverup/kimono for the beach followed by a late lunch. Finally, For Accessories… How gorgeous are these earrings? Don’t they look way more expensive than they are?! You can’t go wrong with this Julie Vos long gold coin pendant, and this Rag + Bone straw hat which just went on sale here. I can’t forget my go-to Staud net mesh bag which comes everywhere with me in the summer. It works for day or night, and holds a ton without looking bulky/big. Shop more of my July 4th style must-haves below – Like this red nail polish, this scarf top, this bandana, and this scallop bikini.

Earn It

I’m so honored and humbled to share that I’m in a best selling book called; Earn It! This book is a straight talking guide for young women in the workplace trying to navigate landing a job. It goes into the new world of work, building a personal brand, and getting the recognition and salary you deserve. It’s written by MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski and her producer Daniela Pierre-Bravo. Earn It is packed with helpful tips and inspiring stories from female entrepreneurs. People like Tory Burch, Martha Stewart, Sarah Jessica Parker and yours truly! My Career TipsI loved sharing my personal story about how I went from being a college student and nanny with student loans to writing my blog and working full time in NYC. And then eventually turning my site into a thriving business. I’m so proud of my journey and evolution, and was thrilled to share it. I hope you pick up a copy of the book and learn something from it – I know I did! It’s jam packed with incredible stories and advice from women I’ve admired for years. I wrote a Career Advice blog post a few months ago that I highly recommend referencing. Especially you’re feeling stuck or wanting a change in the workplace. Starting a business and/or switching jobs certainly isn’t a walk in the park. But I always say “Where there’s a will there’s a way”. You Can Truly Do Anything You Put Your Mind ToI think the biggest thing to take away from my story is that you absolutely do not have to start with a huge savings account/cushion or tons of connections to break into an industry and thrive. Perseverance, authenticity, passion, and a willingness to take on any task no matter how big or small are just a few of the qualities that helped me get where I am today. I’d love to hear what industry you’re in and what other career tips you’d love to see on here as it’s been such a popular topic on the site!

A Lightweight Summer Trench Coat

It’s been rainy and humid all week in NYC so I’ve been wearing this lightweight trench coat from ba&sh over everything. I love the draped cut, classic buttons, and taupe color which looks good on every skin tone. I have several trench coats, but this is one of my favorites for summer because it’s so breathable and loose. There are a ton of lightweight summer trench coats on the market, and if you don’t already own one; I highly recommend investing in this versatile piece of outerwear. Pair it with a little white dress, black slip dress, jeans, a travel look, even sweats, you name it. This ba&sh one is a bit of a splurge, but I also really like this one, this one and this one. I love pairing a trench coat with white denim. These are such a great pair of distressed white denim jeans from none other than L’Agence. They’re a high waisted cut, with just the right amount of rips. I also love these white jeans with a frayed edge and no rips in case you’re not into knee rips. I recently bought this T by Alexander Wang tank and am so impressed with the quality. It’s made of a super thick cotton, with ribbed edges, and cut on the shorter side so it’s flattering when you tuck it into tight jeans. It’s simple and chic – and can be paired with everything from a leather pencil skirt to white denim like I did here, blue jeans, or even a beige trouser. If you’re ever stumped on what to wear; you can pretty much never go wrong with the combo of a trench, skinny jeans, and a stripe T. Shop my entire outfit below. Enjoy your weekend!

Summer Dresses

Summer is here and I have been LIVING in dresses like these for the past few weeks. They’re all by the same brand – Reformation. They make the most gorgeous dresses and I am SO happy they’re finally carried on Nordstrom! I recently found out Reformation is a sustainable brand which makes me love them even more!!! I had to throw this linen jumpsuit in the dress mix because it’s just too good…and it happened to be one of the most popular items from my Fashion Wishlist Pinterest board. If you ever want to see what’s on my wish list, or items I’ve recently bought – I update this board Monday-Friday! In addition to being carried on Nordstrom, Reformation has their own website and the selection is to-die-for. Literally I want to buy every single one of their summer dresses! I just scored this red printed dress in one of the last sizes, and this linen sweetheart style dress. I love a midi dress cut because it’s flattering on any body type. Reformation always makes a beautiful cinched waist/bodice which accentuates your curves even more. I find that their dresses run a bit on the smaller side. So I typically size up if I am between sizes. I get a ton of questions asking me what bra I wear with silk/strapless/tank top dresses and these nipple petals are a LIFESAVER. I wear them pretty much everyday. Shop more of my favorite Summer Dresses below!
