What To Wear: Holiday Photos

One of the most frequently asked questions I’ve received this holiday season, is “What should I wear for my Christmas card?” And the answer is this – it really depends on your own personal style and surroundings! I wanted to share a few options that would be beautiful this season.

What To Wear: Holiday Photos

Classic + Traditional

For him: I love a crisp white button down or crewneck cashmere sweater with dark jeans or slacks. Depending on the weather a classic coat would look nice over it. I think blazers are a bit too formal in a holiday photo for most men, so I’d skip them. For shoes he could do a loafer, chelsea boot or a clean white or black sneaker. For her: There are a lot of routes you could take. A floral dress in warm, fall colors (I’d leave this one unbuttoned), a romantic, long sleeve silk dress, a midi skirt with a cashmere sweater, a sweater dress, or a silk blouse with a pencil skirt. For shoes, I love a heel because it forces you to stand up straight and accentuates your figure! An open toe heeled sandal works, a pump, or a bootie (depending on what you’re pairing it with.)

Modern + Sophisticated

For him: A crewneck sweater, a simple black or white henley, or a chambray button down. If he chooses a simple white t-shirt, this cardigan would look great over it. For pants, he could do jeans in black, white, or a darker denim wash. I also love dark navy cords. For shoes, I love a leather sneaker in white, tan or black, a chelsea boot, or a light brown leather loafer. For her: Black or white corduroy pants, black jeans, or faux leather pants with an over the knee boot and pretty cashmere v-neck sweater would look great. Layer with a faux fur vest or elegant lightweight coat. You could also do a blue jean with a black cashmere sweater or blouse and black boots. If you’re wanting to dress up a bit more, a leather pencil skirt with a chunky knit sweater or blouse would look so pretty.

Bohemian + Relaxed

For him: Same as above (the modern + sophisticated look.) This shawl collar sweater in taupe is really nice as well. And you can’t go wrong with this thicker long sleeve henley. For her: a floral dress in fall colors with a knee high suede boot or bootie depending on the length of the dress. A flouncy white blouse with blue jeans and tan suede booties. A flowy midi skirt like this one, with a v-neck sweater, blouse, or silk cami. With the midi skirt, you can do a knee high boot which will elongate you (a short bootie would cut you off.)
