Thomas and I took my dad to Waveny Park; a gorgeous estate that’s open to the public year round. A former oil magnate donated his incredible former home along with 300 acres of land to the town of New Canaan years ago, and now people from all over the world get to enjoy it! The property is really something – I just wish we had gone sooner so we could have seen it with all of the vibrant fall leaves! If you’re in the area, it’s definitely worth checking out :)
Classic Pieces For Winter
Classic Wrap Coat
It was a windy and chilly day, so I bundled up in my new grey wrap coat! This coat is so high quality, comes in tons of different colors (eyeing the taupe color!) and it just went on major sale. My sister has owned it for yearssss in black, and I’m so glad that I finally got it in the grey this season. It runs true to size, is really warm, and lays beautifully open or closed. If you’re going to buy 1 coat this season, honestly this should be it.
Faux Leather Pants
If you’re looking for a faux leather jean/pant (basically something more structured than a legging) these will be perfect for you. They run true to size, and definitely give a bit after you wear them for a few hours. They’re snug at first, but hug every curve just right so I wouldn’t go up a size. I love the subtle buttons and pocket detail – and they’re under $70! I have to say, leather pants and leggings are my absolute favorite thing to wear in the winter because they make any outfit look cooler and more sophisticated.
Cashmere Knit Sweater
This is such a soft cashmere knit sweater. It’s from Bloomingdale’s Aqua line which I own a ton of pieces from. The line is full of classic staple items that are well made and reasonable. This fringe sweater is really fun from them as well, and I love this faux fur vest which I own in black. You would NEVER know it was fur because it feels sooooo luxurious!
Gift Ideas
If you’re looking for a few more gift ideas for the holidays… I LOVE these Dior sunnies (splurge, but they’re on sale!), the faux fur vest I mentioned above, this sherpa teddy coat, this leather moto jacket, this pretty v-neck sweater, the Charlotte Tilbury highlighter I swear by, and Dr. Barbara Sturm’s Discovery Kit.
You always know what classic pieces to buy!! Love your recs!

I need to check out this estate. Looks beautiful
[…] To pick up our Christmas greenery, I wore these faux leather leggings. They’ve got a good amount of stretch, but don’t slip down when you sit or walk (which is KEY!) They’re from Nordstrom’s BP line and are under $50. I recommend getting your normal size. They have just the right amount of shine (not too much, not too little where they are matte!) Can you tell I’m picky about my faux leather leggings?! […]
Love all these looks, Kat! The coat is really amazing and definitely something I will want to add to my wardrobe.
