Christmas Traditions

Rebecca Dale Photography It feels so good to be back in Arizona reunited with my family.  There are so many special traditions my family shares on Christmas.  The morning is always my favorite.  I try to sleep in…but never can!  I wake up to the smell of mulling spices burning on the stove and walk into the kitchen to find my mom baking away.  She has everything laid out – fresh fruit, quiche, belgian waffles, chocolate chip muffins and scones.  We eat a huge breakfast that tides us over to dinner.  After breakfast we open our stockings and unwrap presents under the tree.  We reminisce about past Christmases and laugh about the gifts we asked for; American Girl dolls, *N Sync CDs, Pogs (remember those?)  Then we usually relax or go to a movie.  Later, we get dressed up and head to my aunt’s house for her annual Christmas party.  My sister and I catch up with our family members, meet new ones (my grandfather was 1 of 14 and my dad 1 of 6) and then we eat, eat, eat!  We all end up in a food coma around 9, so we say our goodbyes and head home.  When we get home there’s always Christmas music playing in the background.  I’m usually out like a light the second my head hits the pillow.  I hope you’re enjoying your own family traditions and I wish you a very Merry Christmas! x

Gift Guide For Her

This purse is the mini version of this purse and is 100% splurge worthy.  I wear this necklace almost everyday – it’s classic.  I love stacking 5 or 6 of these bracelets together.  This ring has been on my wish list for months.  I have these PJs in the zebra print and can’t wait to get another pair.  It’s hard to choose a favorite Tocca perfume – with this set you don’t have to.  Pair a bottle of wine from Drew Barrymore’s vineyard with this initial bottle stopper for a hostess gift.  Everyone loves a cute iPhone case.  Anthropologie came out with this limited edition mug just in time for the holidays. This dish is perfect for holding jewelry and odds + ends.  I love this Rebecca Minkoff pouch – it keeps my purse organized.  You can’t go wrong with a Theodora & Callum scarf – I wear mine in the fall, winter, spring and summer.  This planner has been a lifesaver.  I have it in the mint green and just ordered the hot pink for next year.  A pack of Hanky Pankys are the ideal stocking stuffer.  I’ll be giving my mom this Jo Malone set for Christmas – she loves this scent.  Diptyque’s “Baies” is the best smelling candle ever.  This watch goes with everything and is such a nice change from this watch.  These coffee table books…I mean what’s better than Chanel?

The Quintessential Fall Door

Rebecca Dale Photography One of my favorite things about NYC is the architecture.  I love wandering through my neighborhood and staring at all of the townhouses.  There’s charm everywhere I look; ivy growing up brick exteriors, window boxes filled with bright blooms, topiaries lining entryways.  This townhouse caught my eye last weekend.  The festive fall wreath, scarecrows, and pumpkins paired with the brick facade and green shutters make this the quintessential fall door.  I’m planning on making my entry a little more festive with a pretty wreath from One Kings Lane.  They have the best selection and they’re all on sale!  This one is at the top of my list.

Low Maintenance

I spent the entire weekend outside and it was glorious!  Yesterday, Tommy and I went for a run in Central Park and then walked around Soho popping into my favorite shops along the way (Sandro, Maje, Equipment, Piperlime.)  Today, Lainy and I snapped these photos and then grabbed coffee at Sicaffe – they make the best lattes.  I wore this “low maintenance” outfit all weekend because it’s so comfortable, but still looks put together.  If you haven’t already noticed – I wear skinny jeans+blouses+blazers a lot.  It’s a combo that never fails me!
