It’s my one year Anniversary since moving to LA! I was originally going to do a NYC vs LA post and share all of the differences between the 2 cities (and maybe I still will at some point) – but I didn’t feel like picking my two favorite cities a part for this one. Each city is special and unique and it’s hard to compare them since they are SO different. NYC was amazing for me as a young 20 something with tons of energy – and LA has been amazing for me as I enter into my 30s with a more calm temperament and mindset. LA has proven to be such a wonderful place to nest and plant roots. I feel like I’m back “home” since I grew up on the West Coast and most of my family is out here. Living in a house with a backyard has really contributed to that nesting feeling – and of course having little Charlie really makes my house feel like a home! Finally, meeting and falling in love with my next door neighbor was icing on the cake <3 I mentioned it on Instastory – but despite what it may have looked like from the outside, my move from NYC to LA and the transition over this past year – was not all smooth sailing! There were bumps and hiccups along the way, but each and every one taught me something and made me that much more grateful for when things did go my way. If you’re thinking of making the move my advice is just do it! You have nothing to lose and if you hate it, you can always move back. I think everyone should experience living on both coasts! x

Congrats on your 1 year L.A. anniversary! I’ve loved following you on this journey. xoxo
I used to live in LA for a shortwhile and it was a blast, loved having an apartment in WeHo and Venice Beach was one of my fave places to visit too. :)
You are looking breathtaking in this feminine and Springtime perfect outfit!

Congrats on your one year moving anniversary! So glad you found a place you can now call home. I really did think your transition was smooth. It all looked effortless but I know there’s always more than what the photo shares.

Ahh, you’re making me homesick! I spent a great deal of time growing up in a suburb of LA…but due to LIFE, hadn’t been back for 14 years (sadface) and was JUST there for a week in February and was SO sad to return to NY, actual home. It was really a long process, I’m just now starting to feel normalish again and it’s been a month since I’ve been back!
I would love to make the move someday, I can’t right now…but it was lovely to see your picture under the Venice sign and be reminded of my recent trip.
This was my first visit to your blog and it’s lovely. I will definitely be back!

I am considering making the move from NY to the West Coast as well! Can you go into any extra details like how you found a place and the cost of moving?
Hi! I highly recommend checking out websites like Zillow and/or looking up reputable realtors in the are you’re interested in. I found my place online!
That’s a gorgeous dress!! And I love how open you’ve been about your struggles with moving and heartbreak.
