10 Things To Do in The Hamptons

Montauk, NYC

Helllloooooo summer!  It’s the perfect time of year to pack your bags and head out to The Hamptons.  I’ve had so much fun exploring different areas in The Hamptons over the years and wanted to share some of my favorite things to do.  PS if you’re heading to Paris or St. Barths anytime soon be sure to check out my “10 Things To Do in Paris” and “10 Things To Do in St. Barths” posts.  Enjoy your weekend!

1.  Have dinner at Crow’s Nest.
I put Crow’s Nest first for a reason!  I had one of the best meals of my entire life here.  The halibut is out of this world and so is the crab pappardelle.

2. Bike ride to the Amagansett Farmer’s Market.
Head to Amagansett Square and pick up fresh fruit and veggies for the day.  Their homemade muffins are a perfect mid afternoon treat.

3. Watch the sunset at The Surf Lodge.
You can’t go to The Hamptons without visiting the iconic Surf Lodge.  The view is unbeatable!

4.  Go wine tasting at Wölffer Estate Vineyard.
Sip on rosé while taking in the stunning vineyard views.

5.  Enjoy cocktails by the fire pit at Gurney’s before dinner at Scarpetta.
Scarpetta is located inside Gurney’s so I love grabbing a pre dinner cocktail on their deck which boasts a cozy fire pit and oceanfront views.

6.  Have lunch at Navy Beach.
Sit directly on the beach and admire the water while you nosh on a fresh lobster roll.  The grilled artichoke is a must.

7. Go shopping in East Hampton and Southampton.
East Hampton boasts everything from Zimmerman, Eres and Ralph Lauren while Southampton has stores like Intermix, Aerin, and Calypso St. Barth.  Pop into antique and vintage stores along the way – there are so many hidden gems!

8.  Grab late night drinks at Ruschmeyer’s.
Ahhhh Ruschmeyer’s.  Brings back memories of my very first summer in the city.  Somehow it’s still just as fun as it was 5 years ago!

9. Pack a picnic and head to the beach.
I love Indian Wells beach in Amagansett or Cooper’s beach in Southampton.

10.  Stay at Gurney’s or The Montauk Beach House.
Gurney’s is a newly renovated hotel located right on the beach.  The Montauk Beach House is a charming, boutique hotel that has the cutest bikes (as seen here) for guests to use at their leisure.  I’ve stayed at both properties and had wonderful experiences.  For long term stays rent a house!

I love your Mansur Gavriel! Ive been looking for a large(ish) crossbody bag that’s super light weigh, and with the minimal design of the Mansur’s – it’s been high on the list!

For about 25 years, my husband and I rented a house in Montauk, a short walk ( a block) to the beach. That had no parking lot so only locals who could walk there used it. Some of my best memories are from those sunny days and dark beautiful nights spent in Montauk. If there was Time Travel, I would be there right now :)

I didn’t realize that there were places to ride your bike in the Hamptons. However, I’ve never been to the Hamptons, so I’m not familiar with the area. Maybe your tips will come in handy this summer. Do you have any tips about planning a trip to that part of the country?
